Pink is not my favorite color but I have nothing against it. Until I began acquiring armor that was pink I did not think about the color very much. Visant told me I looked good in it so I bought a mageweave shirt that the seller called lavender but looks pink to me. He is so gloomy lately and I am not much fun either. The color makes us smile and since his wife is dying and I am having different family troubles, smiling at anything is a relief.
I was assaulting the Ramparts last night with Thornel (Eladis was not there this time) and a mage whose name I never found out. I was too depressed to ask. I met Bir, who had previously only been spoken of by the members of Thornel I have adventured with before. If you put a gag in his mouth he would try to keep on talking through it. He told me "some guy" had tried to make him wear a pink "dress" like mine, but he did not want to. He said that it would be dishonest because he is a rogue, not a magic user. I thought that was weird and said that I wear leather sometimes. Who cares what you wear outside adventuring. But he said, "Pink leather?" And now I cannot get the idea out of my head.
For some reason I am looking up leatherworkers to see if I can get something made in pink, in order to surprise Visant. I know he would laugh. We both need to laugh. So because of a very annoying rogue I am spending money to get pink "gear" made even though Visant already sent me to someone to get some custom items made. I still do not know what to do for his birthday, which is only a few days away, but this might be part of it. Maybe. I have Selthea looking for something interesting to add to his collection. The problem is I am not as rich or creative as he is so whatever I do will probably be a disappointment, especially in light of his wife turning into a fetus. Therefore, whatever I give to him will be presented in pink leather. At least he will laugh.
