"War?!"

Vilmah stood beside the Sanctuary guildhall. After recent renovations (which Steinburg had done himself, for reasons unknown..) the spacious hall looked just as their new recruits described it; like a temple. Or a church, maybe? It was for this reason that a five foot tall raging orc looked even more out of place.

She was wearing her armor, after just having returned from Gruul's Lair. Her tabard was stained in ogre blood, and her long purple ponytail was matted and tangled with sweat. In her hands was a letter that Kalgor, Steinburg's young orcish son, had delivered to her. The words were in a human's shaky hand.

Vil,

I've heard you've gone to war with Sacred Fire. What's going on, Vilmah? I never imagined that Sanctuary would declare war on another guild so quickly. Although from what Laron has told me--

"War?!" Vilmah said again, her bright hazel eyes wide with shock and anger. "Who in the hell said anything about war?! We're not at war with Sacred Fire, for goodness' sake! They're on our list because they came to our home and beat the everliving hell out of me! What in the world is wrong with these people!? How can they say they want peace when they attack our city, and then say that we've declared war?!"

Kalgor, being nine years old and not privy to the anger of his Warboss before, stood a few feet back. "I.. uh.. don't know, miss Vilmah," he stammered. "I guess they figured that since they're to be killed on sight, you're gonna come after them, and--"

"Now you listen to me, Kalgor," she said quickly. "They came into our city. The city we built after years of opression and torment. They came into our city, and they targetted me. After their own people killed ours, out of nowhere! After they attacked members of Sanctuary for fun! And now they have the nerve to say that they've wanted peace?? How dare they! How in the hell DARE they!"

She was panting now, a little sweat building on her neck. Where was Nojinbu, now? Rosette was inside with Ruby, his riding wolf, who was due with puppies any day now.

"What'r you gonna do, miss Vil?" Kalgor asked after a few moments of silence.

Vilmah rubbed her eyes. "I dunno. I just don't know! Sanctuary does not declare war on a guild unless they deserve it.. and Sacred Fire, for what they did most certainly deserve it! But I never declared war.. it's almost like.."

She paused.

"It's almost like they want us to declare war. Like they're trying to make us out to be.."

Vilmah blinked a few times.

"..they're just trying to make us look like we're warmongering savages, aren't they? That's their little game. Attack our cities and feign ignorance. Try and call us out by saying we've declared war on a 'peaceful' guild. Well, I'm not playing their infantile little game. War is not a fucking game. War is death and suffering, and it's supposed to be avoided, but it looks like Sacred Fire has other plans. Sacred Fire wants a war."

She looked at the note, which had been carefully written by Najme.

"Well.. they'll get no war from me. I'm not like them. If they want a fight, they can bring it, but I refuse to let them turn us into hyprocrites like they are."
