She saw it. The fear in his eyes. This had played out many times. Her hand reaching up to pull this poor mans soul out, her Fel hound, Fel Woman, Khaanom behind him, preventing escape. The purple coil began to release from her hand. The death blow, this was it.
Then, like a flash of light, something hit her.
“Why…why do you do this young one?”
“Wha..What…whose there?”
She whirled around, looking for the source of the voice. Something, at that moment, clicked in her head, and she stood facing the city. Shattarah City. She felt something pull her. Something telling her to follow. Khaanom felt it as well, sniffing the air.
“Master…What, what is it?”
“I’m not…sure. Leave him, I have a feeling we should see what this is.”
Their journey was short, through the gates, up the ramp, into the temple.
“Chroni Kie Chrysto! Welcome to the temple of light, human.”
“Temple…”
It wasn’t there. That sick feeling she felt. Last she was in a temple, she passed out from the influence of the light. She felt at home here.
“No one is beyond Redemption, young one. I see A’dal has called you here. Please, approach him.”
She was confused. What was this? They didn’t cower, didn’t leer. no hatred towards her. And who was A’dal?
“I am A’dal Shigana Barov. Your heart is now open to the light. It floods in, and will stop at half. I have heard of your balance, your secret desire too. You now have the balance you desire, inside you. This gift I give, do not let it go to waste.”
Then, she felt it. The pounding of her heart, her lungs strained for air. She coughed, the black ooze that was her demon, her demonic side spilled out, evaporating before it hit the ground. She was on her hands and knees when she felt it. A hand, on her shoulder.
“You ok madam?”
The Dreani held her hand, helping her to her feet. His eyes glowed, the light around him shimmered.
“I..I think I am…Thank you..”
