Mae was pacing. She was slowly walking back and forth along the length of floor just inside her small living room. She'd been pacing for nearly a week.. since the moment that she had recived the "for her eyes only" letter from Lovely.

Should I? It seems so easy, to just.. to find out what it is exactly that is so appealing to him.

You're an idiot! How do you know it isn't some kind of elaborate trap set up by the horde? You know how much they hate First Legion.. how much they hate your kind and the Alliance!

She signed, placing her hands over her ears. One voice told her to go for it, another tried to reason with her. "I'm loosing my mind!" She cried, flopping down on the plush armchair behind her.

The appartment door swung open, causing her to jump slightly.

"Woman, get up." Gralin was home. Mae stood, her long eyebrows raised in surprise due to the sheer worry behind her husbands words.

"Gralin?"

"Maegannon, we'll be needing you to return with us to Stormwind." Cid's voice touched Maegannon's ears long before he appeared from behind the Dwarf. Had he been any other human, Mae probably would have seen him right away. Cid was no ordinary human. The man's eyes were fixed upon Maegannon, and the look was none to friendly.

Something is wrong. Very.. very wrong "Cid, what's going on?"

"All will be explained upon our return to Stormwind, Maegannon. Please do not fight the request, I've got half the guild standing outside should you decide not cooperate. We will bring you by force, should it be required."

Big trouble. Bad. Very bad. Run.No matter what her instincts told her, she remained still and standing, her eyes moving from the very serious looking Cid, to the distraught Gralin. She pleaded to him with her eyes, but he looked away, focusing instead upon the floor. Maegannon felt her heart shatter.

She took a deep breath, turned her gaze back to Cid, and put up her toughest front. "If I agree to go with you, and I am not saying I am, you had best explain what is going on, right now. I respect you, Cid, but I'm not scared of First Legion, and I'm not moving one step until you tell me what the fuck is going on."

Cid sighed, the look of stern disappointment melting from his face. It was replaced with a look of devastation. "We've been asked to bring you to Stormwind to face trial, Mae. I don't know anything, the Stormwind nobles aren't saying a word. As true members of the Alliance, we must comply. I'm sorry Mae. Please don't make this any harder on us."

RUNRUNRUN! She stood with her head high, ignored the urge to run away, ignored her pounding heart. "Alright Cid, I'll come along. Just promise me that the first iota of information you get, you'll tell me?"

"Done."

With that, she glanced once more at her husband, who was still refusing to look at her. She sighed, took her staff in her hands, and walked out of the little apartment door.

((Sorry I took so long to work more on this.. I was avoiding the computer at all costs!))

The cell bars were cool against her forehead. It helped to alleviate the itch that constantly plagued her, right where the down-covered bone extended from her skull to make tan colored antlers. She sighed, pulling away from the bars. The cell was small, dank, dark. There was no sunlight allotted to her, no smell of fresh earth, no taste of nature.

The cell was small, so small in fact, that the tall woman had to stoop when standing. Her back used to scream, now it was numb, as was her soul.

"Time to eat, whore!" a small brass bowl was shoved through the small opening at the base of the metal barred door. its brown, liquid like contents sloshing wetly upon the stone floor. "Eat up. their ain't be nothin else for traitorous, murdering whores like you!" The toothless old man cackled as he walked away.

The elf dived to the floor, hungrily eating what ever the brown stuff was. It was oats, soaked in water, and other fowl things that she had tried not to think about. She had stopped caring weeks ago.

Cid had come to see her religiously, every week. It was the only thing that had marked the passing days to her. He was reassuring, telling her that there would be a trial, that he knew that the accusations were false. Maegannon, kill children? Have secret transactions with horde members? Be working for The Lich King? Impossible! Ludicrous! Ridiculous!

She could only smile sadly at him. She had in fact done those things. She had once murdered two orphans, though not under her own steam. She had been keeping in contact with the Paladin, Lovely, a long time friend gone horde. She had been a puppet of Kel'Thuzad..

Mae had given up hope of ever seeing daylight again, no matter what her friends might think.

Kaldore and Tra had come to visit her, as well. They reassured her that all would be righted, that the nobles were a bunch of think headed ogres in expensive clothing. Neither had come back to visit after the third attempt to raise her spirts.

Gralin never came at all. If she ever had any hope, it would have rested with him. He never came, never told her of his love and hope. She was nothing but an empty shell, a pretty elf, dressed in grays to match the emptiness that lived with in the shapely form.

There was nothing left for her to hope, nothing left for her to love, and nothing left worth living for.

((Welcome to open story night! Anyone, horde or alliance, is now welcome to make story-line posts here.. I ask only that you don't try and break her out. She believes she deserves to be where she's at, and won't go along with break out attempt-plans. Feel free to try a "legal" and "legitimate" way of getting her sprung from 'The joint'. Feel free to come visit. Heck, feel free to throw rotten tomatoes at her.))

Upon the lowest corner of the front page of the Gadgitzan Times, a barely noticed article, with picture.

Druid Arrested in Stormwind! Baby Killer, or Falsely Accused?

Maegannon Silverbeard, former ambassador to Stomrwind City for the Cenarion Circle, Wife of Gralin Silverbeard, and Former Public Relations Officer of such guilds as Pinnacle and Section Eight, was arrested last Tuesday. Sources tell us that she went quietly, escorted by several High Ranking members of First Legion.

What, may you ask, is a Druid and Ambassador doing in jail, you might ask. Well, here at the 'Times, we're out to investigate. It seems the Circle of Noble Houses are calling for her execution, for such heinous 'alleged' crimes as the cold blooded murder of two children from the Stormwind Orphanage, missing since late last fall, and leaking war-secrets to the horde. It is also rumored that she is working for the Lich King, formerly known as Prince Arthas Menethil, to cause strife among the current state of affairs between said Horde and Alliance.

This goblin thinks that the Stormwind Nobles are loosing it, personally, but then, this goblin doesn't work for them, he works for the 'Times.

Did Mrs Silverbeard really murder those children? Is she selling the alliance to the Horde for the highest bidder? Is she really a member of the Cult of the Damned, out to destroy all life on Azeroth, one noble house at a time? You decide. Either way, it makes for a good story.

Maegannon is currently being held within the Stormwind Stockades.. the stockades that aren't currently in the middle of a riot, that is. She is allowed visiters, though be warned, they will be searching all who come calling thurowly to make sure this "Dangerous Criminal" doesn't escape

A thin frame ran through dark corridors, attempting to escape the prison that was his living nightmare for many years. The torches flickered and moved to the speed of the captive. He looked back to find jailers after him, chasing him to bring him back to the place he hated so much. He got a chance to escape, and he took it, nothing was going to ruin his chance this time, nothing... except...

With the sound of bone on bone, and then a sound of bone hitting solid rock, the captive fell to the floor, hit by a force he did not suspect. He looked up toward what hit him, and saw a figure, a silhouette against the light of the torches. The jailors caught up to the to him, and lifted him to his feet.

“NO! I...I... won’t go back!! Please! By the Light, nooooo....!” he was dragged back to his cell, to continue the living nightmare that eats away at his sanity to this day.

One of the jailers turned around to the silhouette, nodding to him. “Thank you, if he had escaped into the city, we may never have caught him.”

Turning around, the jailer left that man to contemplate what he had done. Was it for the best? Did he even deserve it? He did say “By the Light” so he was most likely falsely accused...

Hailos brushed these thoughts away as he began walking down the corridor again. He had come here because, well, he had never been here before, and this is one of the darker sides of Stormwind. He looked toward the faces in the cells, faces filled with despair and sorrow. Hailos didn’t like it, but he was still relatively new to Azeroth, and to know every detail, no matter how horrible or minor, was a necessity. Hailos stopped as he came across a seemingly small cell, he may not have noticed if the figure in there was not unusually tall and had horns protruding from her forhead. Stopping to take a closer look, he recognized who it was.

“Ah, I remember you, Maegannon, correct?” Hailos took a look at her living conditions; bare minimal.

“Why are you in here, and... if you were convicted of a crime, why aren’t you in a Kaldorei prison?”

The voice was unfamiliar, so instinctively she looked towards it. The deep shadows caused by the torch upon the wall made it hard to make out the face of the person, stranger, speaking to her. She cared little.

With a small, empty laugh, she dropped her eyes back to the slate colored floor. "Haven't you heard? I'm a baby killer, traitor to my people and my alliance. Oh, and I'm also a member of the Cult of the Damned, out to bring The Lich King back to power." she sighed, and moved away from the barred door. She curled up on the floor, like a dog, and gave another empty chuckle.

"You probably shouldn't be seen talking to me, else they throw you in here for fraternizing."

Hailos raised a eyebrow, “I am part of Haven, fraternizing is my business.”

“Do they have proof to the crimes you just stated? Or did you simply confess them?” Hailos gazed down at her, his tone sounding neither cold nor friendly.

“And I am still not understanding why you are jailed in Stormwind rather then Darnassus, their Wardens do a much better job of keeping their respective prisons from having a mass breakout. Not to mention you are also Kaldorei, which would mean you should be tried as Kaldorei, not as a Human.”

((I need more time!))

"Does it matter? I've always been an annoyance to the Stormwind Nobles. They've been looking for a reason to throw me in jail for years."

"I've no idea why the Sentinels didn't just take me in themselves, but I suspect it has something to do with whom I married and the position I once held." She sighed, sitting up crossed legged. She leaned backwards, the only opportunity she ever had to stretch her back muscles in such a small space.

"I didn't confess anything."
