View Full Version : Curiosity Killed The Cat((Open))

Maegannon
06-26-2007, 10:16 AM
((This is an open thread to anyone, seeing as it takes places in Shattrath. Horde, Alliance.. get creative! ))

Mae yawned, walking quietly through the streets of the lower city of Shattrath. Her footsteps were as quiet as kitten paws on cotton.

She was bored.

After the excitement of the last couple weeks, of finding herself a kindred spirit in a Sin'dorei hunter, her sudden magic-backed illness that had caused her to stay in bed for days.. and the sudden feisty additude her husband had developed out of thin air; she found this new week dawning upon the border of sheer, unadulterated, boredom.

Her mind wandered a bit, taking in the sights, and ug.. smells, of the lower city. Everywhere around her there were people struggling to survive. It was not an easy life, and it made Mae silently thankful for her place and station in the world. She had always been well off, and had been lucky enough to have a husband who had a head for figures. Gralin had always been able to manage their money well enough so that they never needed to go without.

Her hearthstone crackled, laughter wafting out of her pocket and into the open air. Guildmates. They were chitchatting with one another as they adventured throughout outlands, making their solo-questing more enjoyable. You never really were alone in the wilderness if you had a hearthstone on you. You could go anywhere by yourself, and have a constant wave of raunchy jokes and grand story-telling streaming out of your pocket.

She tried to ignore the noise, but it was hard, with Kaldore's voice telling a wonderful tail about his latest and greatest "conquest", and Distructive making yet another crack about Wildcaster's "stature". Mae tried to fight off the wave of giggles brought forth by the dirty-minded conversations. She failed.

She loved her guild to death, but sometimes, they made it hard for a girl to daydream.

She paused in her walking, and made a move towards her pocket, to tell the boys to shut it so she could think.. when something curious cault her eye.

An Orc female was leading her riding worg by a leash, a little child in a sun bonnet sitting atop the fuzzy beast. As they turnned the corner to enter the Worlds End Tavern, Mae caught sight of the childs face.

Human.

Mae felt her stomach drop to her knees.

WHAT ON AZEROTH IS AN ORC DOING WITH A HUMAN CHILD!?

Mae decided that it needed investigation, that the child probably was going to need to be rescued. She stuck her hand into her pocket, rubbed her thumb across her hearthstone, and whispered into it "Guys, Shut up.. there's an orc here in lower city with a human child. I'm going to go take a closer look. If I need help, I'll call"

With that, Mae sneezed, gaining four paws and midnight black fur. She let herself fade into the shadows, and ever-so-catlike slunk towards the Worlds End Tavern.

Vilmah
06-26-2007, 10:42 AM
Vilmah was not pleased with the way things were being handled. Diomades had left, he'd broken quite a few hearts, and she'd gone off on him like an angry grandmother.

"Shoulda just kept my mouth shut.." she kept muttering.

Rosette was singing beside her. She bobbed her head back and forth, singing, "La la la.. Suuuuula... bug.... buuuuuzzzzz..."

She had no idea what the three year old was singing about, but she expected it had something to do with Sulajin. For a murderous pyromaniac, he was extraordinarilly good with children. Of course, it was time for she and Rosette's usual outing to the World's End tavern, to purchase more of Nojinbu's "special drink". The troll drank like a fish, and of course due to his regeneration, the effects didn't last long.. so his supplies never lasted long. Vilmah considered it a labor of love to haul the several dozen bottles of rum once a week. Also, Edmund didn't seem to mind. While being close to Ruby was his highest priority, it seemed that the pregnancy was making her grumpy.

"Alright, here we are sweety," she said cheerfully, trying to stay happy in front of Rosette. Her expression betrayed her last night, and the little girl had spent the evening cuddling with "Vi-vi". "Want to talk to the lady?"

Rosette still didn't understand much orcish, but what she could pick apart she responded to. Nodding quickly, she rose her arms so that Vilmah could pick her up, and ran to the barmaid. Vilmah didn't lose sight of her, but she managed to catch a glimpse of a suspicious looking night elf who looked none too friendly.

"Hm.. better stay on my toes...." she muttered.

Maegannon
06-26-2007, 11:27 AM
Mae quietly entered the Tavern, her eyes fixed upon the little girl. She was now standing atop the counter, talking clear-as-a-bell to the bartender. Mae slunk closer, though just out of reach of the worg. Mae knew better, Worgs, even riding wolves, had keen noses.

"Can I have lots of 'Special Drink' today please?" The child said.

Mae was slightly startled by the fluency of the child's speech. Most human children had a heck of a time mastering common. She was even more startled when the bartender hauled up a case of whiskey.

What kind of bartender gave whiskey to a toddler?! The world has officially gone Topsy turvy.

She couldn't help herself. Curiosity outweighed worry for the child. She sneezed.

"Excuse me! Why on Azeroth would you give a child a case of whiskey!? Are you insane? Do you not see that she's being held captive by an orc? Are you just going to stand there and let this.. beast, steal human children?????!"

She turned to the little girl, brow furrowed. "Come on sweetie. The orc cant hurt you here, come with me and I'll take you home." She held her arms out, waiting for her to climb into them. Instead, the little girl squealed and ran, hopping into the female orc's arms with a look of pure terror in the one eye the sun bonnet didn't cover. It didn't even register to Mae that the fear in the one exposed eye of the little girl was directed towards her, and not the orc.

Vilmah

The barmaid frowned at Maegannon, folding her arms.

"I'll heve jou know thet thees ees Rrosette Frrostbite, and zhat ees herr mozher!" The draenai huffed, taking Rosette by the hand. "Se comes een herre everry vheek to get herr fazher hees weekly supply. He eez a troll, which ees why she gets so much.. now stop scarrink zhe poor girl!"

Vilmah noticed the commotion involving Rosette, and immediately pat Edmund's side. "Stay, boy."

Walking over to the barmaid, the miniscule orc gave Maegannon a raised eyebrow and took Rosette into her arms. She spoke orcish, but looked at the elf. The barmaid translated. "Is there a problem?"

Maegannon
06-26-2007, 11:49 AM
"Wait.. what?" Mae turned to the orc, eyes narrowed. She continued to converse with the barmaid, not removing her eyes from the female and the little child.

"You're telling me that this is her mother? You're telling me.. that an orc.. is the mother of a human child.. and her father is a troll."

Mae chuckled

"Right, and my husband is a 43 foot giant dwarf with a taste for gnome blood."

The barmaid made a noise to protest. "Tell this.. female, that I request her to relinquish the kidnapped child before I am forced to call in reinforcements. Tell her that should she fail to comply, I'll have no problems calling in the boys from First Legion. They're itching to do some orc skinning anyway." She grinned, shaking her head at the Orc, her antlers looking sharp and deadly.

"YOU LEAVE MY Vi-Vi ALONE, MEANYFACE!"

Vilmah
06-26-2007, 11:54 AM
Vilmah held Rosette closer to her. She didn't understand what Maegannon was saying, but one thing she did hear were the words "First Legion". Her face immediately darkened as she whistled from the side of her mouth, summoning Edmund to her side.

"Tell this.. Kaldorei to keep her filthy hands away from my child. If she is a member of First Legion, she is a dishonorable murderer."

The barmaid translated as best she could, glancing back to where Rosette was glaring angrilly at Maegannon, holding on to Vilmah's ponytail with one hand.

"..deeshonorable murrderer," the barmaid finished. She shook her head. "Don't jou know anyzing? Zat is ze leaderr of Sanctuarry! Zhey are a peaceful guild, and zhees is Shattrath. Eet is also a 'sanctuary'. Jou can tehk jour horrible violence farr avay frrom herre, zhenk jou. Ve jus' vant to leev een peace."

Maegannon
06-26-2007, 12:25 PM
Maegannon paused.

"Sanctuary? Wait.. wait.. okay." She held a hand up, setting her mace down upon the counter with the other. She took a moment to really look at the orc.

Purple and gold. Fuck.

Maegannon sighed. Just recently she had met Hailos, a member of Haven. The two guilds were allied, under a banner of peace.

Damnit. I promised. She sighed again.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't aware.. Please.. tell her I apologize for my rudeness, and tell her that not everyone from The Legion are murderers.. I was only concerned for the child's welfare..." She sighed. "I wish I had paid better attention in language classes.. "

Vilmah
06-26-2007, 12:30 PM
The draenai translated Maegannon's speech to Vilmah, who's face softened a little. She nodded and stood a little taller; that is to say, she looked Maegannon in the eye when by all rights she should have been eyeing her torso.

"Tell her I'd be more apt to trust her if I didn't see her 'friends' casually murder my family on a daily basis," Vilmah said clearly. "And if she's right about not being a murderer herself, she might want to find better company."

Of course, the draenai complied. Rosette meanwhile began braiding Vilmah's ponytail.

Oraias

A pile of black armour and spikes lay in a corner booth of the World's End Tavern. Or at least that's how it would have looked to a casual observer. A closer glance would have revealed an orc warrior of prodigious stature, seemingly fast asleep with his feet up on the table beside an empty tankard. A much closer glance would have indicated that one eye was open.
And his grin was not that of a man in a pleasant, drunken dream, but that of a meddlesome boy watching something interesting.

Darkblade
06-26-2007, 12:58 PM
Darkblade opened an eye from the table she was at, coincidentally on the opposite side of the bar from the pile of black armor and spikes, glancing toward the jibbering Night Elf and then toward the under-aged warboss of Sanctuary. Leaning back in her chair, her boots were kicked up on the table and her hat was pulled down over her face (for the most part).

She smirked at the action, and closed her eye again, keeping her ears trained in case something interesting were to happen.

Maegannon
06-26-2007, 01:13 PM
She felt terrible.

"You can't always help who you call friends.. sometimes they find you, regardless of background or personal beliefs. I'm sure, as a spokesperson for peace, understand that better then most. Times are different, but old hatreds run deep, and many people are not yet ready to shed them. I'm guilty of it myself sometimes." She smiled weakly towards Vilmah and the child.

"How did you.. why did you.. I mean.. An orc and a human child.. ?"

Vilmah
06-26-2007, 01:18 PM
She glanced back at Rosette, who was still busy braiding, then answered the draenai. "My husband and I decided to adopt. He is a troll, so we can't have children together, and figured there were many children who needed a home."

Vilmah rubbed her eyes, remembering the story.

"My husband is also covered in scars. He is missing one eye, too. When Rosette saw him, she identified with him. None of the other children really had the guts to look him in the eye, but she did, and Nojinbu is weary of people being afraid of him.. so we asked the matron, and she said that there weren't many who would adopt a girl like her. Better to have her find a home amongst the Horde than to have her grow up loveless."

She smiled at the girl.

"And we do love her."

Tillna
06-26-2007, 01:19 PM
Till Strolled in, her armo thick and jagged, worn and chipped. She looked at those collected here, blinking, making her way to the bar to grab a bag full of water skins. She smirked, laughing a bit.

She spoke in Darnassian to the druid.

"Trust me, the child will be raised better then by her human parents with that orc. Jsut have some faith."

She nodded to Vil, picking up a cake and some flasks of juice and made her way out.

"We're having a party soon Vilmah. You're invited if you want."

She didn't wait for a resonse, being on a timetable, and not sure how to throw a party, she was buys getting everything she may need.

Maegannon
06-26-2007, 01:39 PM
Mae blinked as the troll spoke to her in her native language. It unnerved her. She tried to ignore it.

"Well.. if that's the case, then I deffinately jumped to the wrong conclusion. I apologize, to both of you." She smiled towards the little girl. "Will you accept my apology, little miss, by accepting this flower?"

Mae held out a single peacebloom to the child.

((off to work *cries* try not to get to far ahead of meeeeeee! *<3*))

Vilmah
06-26-2007, 01:44 PM
Rosette looked from the flower to Vilmah. Vilmah nodded, and she took the flower with a bright smile, as if nothing bad had happened at all.

"Thank you," Rosette said in her accented common.

Vilmah allowed herself to smile a little, herself. "Apology accepted. I guess it isn't easy to see the other side as anything but the enemy, especially when a kid is involved."

Skafloc
06-27-2007, 10:33 AM
Skafloc needed a drink. His irritation at having to hunt down yet again as many of the blasted air elementals he could find in the wilds of Nagrand was threatening to boil over.

Winding his way through the throngs of Lower City he made for the tell tale awning of the World's End tavern. He rather enjoyed the place as there was always news to be had and an interesting flow of peoples to watch. It took him some time to learn to ignore the whiney socialite that seemed to be a permanent fixture in the place, that Pilton girl.

It was also a convenient place for him to read his mail.

He entered the establishment, head down and fixated on an interesting letter from his head gardener Chauncey. It seemed there was an exciting development with the manathistle crop. Something about unusually rich soils effectively doubling the size of the yield.

He glanced up from his letter just in time to see an expanse of snowy white wavy hair inches from his nose. A fraction of a second later he collided with the tall curvy figure before him. In an awkward manoever he tried to side step, but in his haste caught his foot on a leg of a nearby barstool. His balance failing him he reached out instictively. The letter fell from fingers that were suddenly open and grasping. He felt himself teetering backwards. His fingers caught purchase on something soft in front of him and he held on for stability.

Too late he realized what he had grasped was in fact a fold in the tall woman's shimmering robes.

There was a momentary pause as his fall was cut short. However his weight and momentum proved too much. With a mix of horror and detached amusement he saw the woman's head jolt as her body was pulled back and around, following Skafloc's descent to the wooden floor. A gasp of surprise escaped her lips.

Skafloc's back hit the floor with a dull thud, knocking the wind out of him. With an almost slow motion feel he gazed up at the looming figure of the tall Kaldorei woman as she hung suspended above him for an instant, then came down arms and legs sprawling to land on top of him.

Skafloc lay there, pinned to the floor, his eyes staring directly into the face of the very night elf woman that had sent the letter and rose to his home some time ago.

" Unnhhhh,," was all he could get out.

Vilmah
06-27-2007, 10:52 AM
Vilmah didn't usually enjoy the company of Sin'dorei nobilitiy, but Skafloc had proven himself to be less of a windbag than most of the others. For the most part, she enjoyed his company, and considered him a friend. He always had that tall air of arrogance, however, but she figured that as long as it didn't make him act smarmy, it was well within his right to act in his nature.

Of course.. she remembered the very first words she ever heard Skafloc say. "Bah! Mistress. why do you bother?...."

Why indeed.

It was for this reason that the moment Skafloc hit the floor, Vilmah erupted in a series of giggles. Rosette did, too. It did her heart good to see mister tall bright and handsome fall on his back.

Maegannon
06-27-2007, 10:55 AM
Maegannon was smiling at the little girl, and the orc female who's features suddenly seemed softer. It never occurred to Mae that orcs could be pretty, but she was realizing fast that this one's inner beauty shone through any differences the two women may have had, physically.

"I'm glad that you have found a family that loves you, little miss. I just hope that the rest of the horde will......!" Mae felt something bump into her, then grab a hold of her midsection, her robe tightening as the hand pulled the fabric away from her skin. She gasped, cutting off mid-sentence. As she turned to address whomever was touching her, she felt a jerk.

She was suddenly falling, and then even more suddenly lieing atop of a red-haired man. He was looking directly into her eyes, and her nose was touching his. She blushed, her whole face turning an adorably light purple color. She moved, hauling herself off of the man and onto her knees beside him. It was then that she realized exactly who the man was... Skafloc Ran'deau.

"Ohmygoodnessi'msosorryareyoualright?" She said in one fell swoop, trying desperately to catch her breath, which had vanished the instance she recognised him. Her heart beat like the wings of a silithid, and she extended a hand to Skafloc to help him up. "I didn't hurt you, did I?"

Skafloc
06-27-2007, 11:17 AM
Skafloc lay there a moment as the woman looked down at him in surprise, her face so close to his the tips of their noses touched. She blushed, then swifly regained composure and hauled herself off of him to rest on her knees beside him.

She spoke in a musical sounding voice, but with a speed such that Skafloc only caught every other word.

"...goodness.. I... sorry... alright? "

She then extended a hand to help him up.

Skafloc opened his mouth to reply but all he managed was a short " unhuh... 'orry. "

Reaching for her hand he grasped it and pulled himself up to his own knees. A part of him noted that her grip was quite firm, despite her soft skin.

He took several deep breaths and put his hands behnd his head, stretching to work a kink out of his back.

" I.. sorry. I wasn't paying attention. Are you hurt? Did I damage your clothes? " he said once the air was back.

From somewhere in the room he heard clapping and a child exclaim in joyful glee. " Again! "

Laron
06-27-2007, 11:22 AM
“What’s a pretty young thing like yourself doing in a place like this…”

Both women turn to see a handsome Night elf with long dark blue hair, stepping from the shadow. A dark figure with glowing eyes, kneeling down with a white rose in his hand, presenting it to Rossette. Looking back up to Vilmah, he stands to give her a hug. “I haven’t seen you in quite some time… I made this for you sweety.” Looking back at the nervous little girl, he hands the little angel a red and brown stuffed bear made from dyed leather, with small black pearls sewn in as eyes.

“I am still learning how to craft, but I hop you like it.”

Vilmah
06-27-2007, 11:25 AM
Vilmah smirked at Laron.

"Stop trying to charm my kid. You're married."

Laron
06-27-2007, 11:33 AM
"I just want to make sure she knows she is very pretty... Even if she is an Orc..."

Smiling back at the little, he takes a seat at the bar. "So ow you be kiddo?" His Troll had gotten much better since he had started talking more with Andellyn.

Vilmah
06-27-2007, 11:40 AM
Vilmah rolled her eyes at the orc comment, still smiling.

"We're both of us fine, and it's nice to have you back. How are the babies doing? And Najme? I'd imagine having two babies takes a lot out of a person."

She paused.

"..litterally."

Maegannon
06-27-2007, 11:58 AM
" I.. sorry. I wasn't paying attention. Are you hurt? Did I damage your clothes? " He was talking to her, looking handsome and distinguished, even after the spill to the floor. She had no idea how he managed to look like that.

Her hair was a mess, strands sticking every which way, several tangled in her antlers. Her robes were rumpled, making her look disheveled and unkempt. She kept right on blushing at the sound of his voice, and stumbled to find the right words. It didn't help that her hand kept right on tingling, as if trying to relive his touch.

"N.. No I'm alright, just a bit.. off is all. Are you sure I didn't hurt you? I'm not exactly built like a feather." She took a deep breath, "My name's Maegannon, its a pleasure to meet you, even if its on such akward terms."

She smiled towards Laron, noticing that the little girl and pretty orc were wrapped up in a conversation with him.. and again she silently wished she had payed closer attention in language classes. At the time, she hadn't seen the need to learn orcish or troll.

Laron
06-27-2007, 12:04 PM
"She is doing fine, the twins are a handful, though, I hired a barmaid to come once a day and help with house chores, and I take them for walks around the loch so Naj can catch a nap once in a while." Chuckling softly to himself. "I think I saw some white hair growing from her pretty brown, but I made sure not to mention it." Finishing his glass of mead, he looks back at the Blood Elf and the Kal'dorei woman.

"You know these two?"

Vilmah
06-27-2007, 12:11 PM
"Skafloc," she said, pointing to the Sin'dorei. "And she's.. I'm not sure. This is the first time we've met."

Laron
06-27-2007, 12:24 PM
Nodding at the man he tries to put a finger of the woman's face. He could have sworn he had seen a pair of antlers like that around once, but he hadn't actually met the woman. "I am Laron Ravenshank." He says in Human common, holding his hand out he waits for one of them to greet him.

(I don't think Laron has actually met Mae Mae. ;))

Skafloc
06-27-2007, 12:30 PM
Skafloc stood and smoothed out his black silk shirt and red pants. Reaching down he extended a hand to the woman, " Maegannon", she called herself?

" Maegannon." he rolled the Kaldorei name off his tongue.

" I am pleased to meet you, although the way we met could have been done better I fear. " He smiled at her as he helped her to her feet.

"Really, I am fine. The fall knocked some wind out of me, but you landing on top didn't hurt any. Yes, I can see you are not a feather." He caught himself staring at her figure, then politely looked up into her silvery eyes.

" But by that token I am not quite made of eggshells. I am fine. In fact I hope I at least managed to cushion your fall somewhat."

He reached out tentatively to pluck a stray lock of hair from out of her antlers. I wonder, is that an exotic head dress or are they really hers?

" My name is Skafloc Ran'Deau. I have seen you around I think. Yes? "

Over the woman's shoulder he noticed for the first time Vilmah, holding her adopted human child, in conversation with a male Kaldorei. Skafloc's alertness rose slightly. Possibly he was with Maegannon? He didn't seem overly interested, but still....

As if on cue the man looked to them both and extended a hand in greeting.

Maegannon
06-27-2007, 01:38 PM
((Off to work *cries*))

Mae giggled, reaching up with her free hand to scratch her antlers. She'd never be used to them, the lightly furred bone always amplified the slightest touch. She shook his hand with the other.

"I am aware of who you are, Baron. Not all of us druids spend their lives hiding in the woods." She said with a warm smile and a wink. "I'm glad that you're not as fragile as your kind tends to exude. "

She released his hand and turned her smile towards Laron. "Its nice to finaly meet you as well, Laron. I've seen you about, here and there. I know your sister, if only slightly."

((oy.. be back at 9est :( *cries*))

Laron
06-27-2007, 02:10 PM
Laron, tenses up hearing the Maegannon use the term Baron, at first he thought she was speaking of him, but after realizing she is talking to the Sin'dorie, he relaxes. "Oh so my reputation proceeds me? Or at least my Sisters does..."
Kissing the back of her hand Laron tries to make it seem as dry as possible, as not to give Vilmah the wrong idea. "Tiss an honor to meet you." Turning his gaze to Skafloc, he looks him straight in the eye and solidly shook his hand like a human would. "Nice to meet you Skafloc."

Maegannon
06-28-2007, 10:06 AM
She smiled openly towards Laron, "Yes, your sister is quite the character, If I do say so myself. I met her some time ago.. introduced by a priest named Nouri. I miss him something feirce, him and Lovely and Kuro.. " She signed, her heart still refusing to calm itself with Skafloc standing so near.

"So many good friends gone, vanished in the winds of time." She looked up to smile at the little child and the orc female. "Can you please tell Miss Villmah here that my name is Maegannon Snowfall. I'm not exactly sure I introduced myself properly."

Then she turned towards Skafloc.

"Baron, you'll have to excuse my rudeness, but I heard stories that Lovely is now living among the Sin'dorei. Could you give her a message for me? I miss her terribly." She smiled warmly, clasping both hands behind her back to hide the fact that they were trembling. There was so much she wanted to ask Skafloc, but she was just to shy, to scared.

Skafloc
06-28-2007, 10:09 AM
Skafloc's face remained impassive as he shook the Kaldorei's hand, making sure to squeeze just a little bit harder than necessary for effect.

" Laron is it? Well met. " So he is't with her, he thought. Still, he was of her people and their animosity towards the Sin'dorei meant he would remain on guard.

" Seems to be a popular day in the Worlds End. I will not be a bother to you good folk. I have some mail to read in any case. A good day to you. " said Skafloc with a slight bow to the man. Turning towards Maegannon he flashed a smile.

" And again, I am sorry for my lack of attention. I am glad you are not harmed. I shall leave you to return to your conversation I so rudely interrupted. " He bowed deep to her and made his way to the back of the tavern to find a quiet table to read his mail.

He paused as she asked about Lovely.

Turning back to her his eyebrows raised in interest.

" Oh, so knew Lovely did you? Yes indeed she dwells among us. In fact she is attached to my very household. I consider her my step sister. Of course I will pass on anything you wish. She is doing well, rest assured. "

Maegannon
06-28-2007, 10:28 AM
She watched him walk away, and felt her heart jump. Nono, not yet, he can't leave yet.

Then he stopped, and turned, and addressed her. " Oh, so knew Lovely did you? Yes indeed she dwells among us. In fact she is attached to my very household. I consider her my step sister. Of course I will pass on anything you wish. She is doing well, rest assured. "

She took a deep breath.

"I'm glad to know she's doing well. Can you tell her that Mae-mae said hello? That we miss her and her laughter in Stormwind, and that I hold her in my heart as a sister, no matter where she goes or what she does? Lovely tends to get herself into trouble, and needs to be reminded that she's a good person every once and a while." She smiled, "OH! and, 'Roar says the fatty bear, bouncy bouncy, pouncie pouncie. Squish the scourge with furry paws, have a drink and then we yawn.' She'll get the symbolism." and giggled.

"Oh and please, don't feel like you've intruded! If anything you've lightened the mood a little." Mae blushed, "I uhm, sort of accused Miss Villmah of kidnapping the little human girl, and if anything you've lightened the mood. Stay and talk with us, if your not to preocupied, that is."

Skafloc
06-28-2007, 10:37 AM
" Bouncy bouncy... pouncie...p.."

Skafloc tried to stifle a chuckle, but failed as a snort escaped his lips.

Trying to keep a straight face he replied. " Alright. I will be sure to pass that along to her, word for word. Should I act it out for effect? " He couldn't help it any longer and started laughing.

Vilmah
06-28-2007, 10:40 AM
"Oh no.." Vilmah said as she saw Rosette, acting out the rhyme.

The little girl bounced on Edmund's back, much to the wolf's enjoyment. "Bouncy bouncy, pouncie pouncie.."

Edmund joined in, and soon both wolf and three year old child were bouncing like a pair of cats on cocaine. "Ed! Knock it off!" Vilmah pleaded. "You're gonna shed fur everywhere!"

Maegannon
06-28-2007, 10:56 AM
She laughed along with Skafloc, watching the little girl and the wolf bounce up and down to the little rhyme.

"Only if you can do it with a straight face!" laughing harder, "Its a little rhyme I made up one night after I tagged along with the swordwalzers for a few weeks durring the scourge envasion last fall. She should get a giggle out of it, for sure."

She kept right on grinning, though tried to sound as serious as possible while there was a hyperactive wolf and an adorable child singing and bouncing their way all over the tavern. "Tell me Baron, how's the wine-making buisness, and the missus, I think her name was Nymare?" and winked. Sometimes, being in the buisness of information for the big-wigs of the alliance had its perks.

Feeling the grip put on his dextrious hand , Laron gets the feeling that his hand shake had made Skafloc feel unwanted. Leaning towards Vilmah, he put his arm around her, and squezzed lightly. "We don't have bad blood here, join us for a drink." He moved to a table and motioned to the empty chair next to him, looking back to Mae. "Besides I'm not the only one who wants you to stay..." Smirking back at the Vilmah, he glances back to the fidgetting Druid. "So you got to meet Ama huh?"

The grin slowly dissolved from Skafloc's face. He opened his mouth to reply, but was at a loss for words for a moment.

He turned to regard the frolicking wolf with the human girl-child clinging to its back.

" The wine business is not without its challenges. The herb and mana fields fare much better. "

The woman was certainly informed. He would have to discover sometime how she knew so much.

" As for the 'missus'.. " Skafloc shrugged and looked back at Maegannon.
" Things change. " He tried to keep his face steady.

" I should get to my mail. It was a pleasure talking to you Maegannon. I will pass your words to Lovely. "

Skafloc turned and resumed his walk to the rear of the tavern. As he passed the excited wolf he whispered a calming word in its ear. For the child he flashed a smile and a wink and another for Vilmah, who looked like she had a handful.

Aimira

Aimira enjoyed strolling around Shattarath. Enjoyed not in the relaxed, feel-good sort of way but more in the what has happened here sort of way. The lower city was a hodge-podge quilt of bedrolls, campfires, and poor shelters. Yet the upper rises contained established and noble offices for commanders and the well-to-do. Regardless, she found something new every day.

Several of her friends enjoyed the open fun of the World's End Tavern and Aimira poked her head in to see who was about this afternoon. The assembled patrons were often interesting, but today took the cake. Some little child was jumping with a large wolf while singing a silly song. An orc woman obviously chastizes them both with a pleading look. A night elf stared longing at the back of one with blazing hair as he walked to a back table. A quiet blue-haired man sat amiably near the exasperated orc while smiling at the young child. Mixed about the other chairs she saw several more horde, quiet but keeping an eye on the entertainment.

"Perhaps, I'll come back tomorrow," she thought to herself.

Redcap

Redcap appeared in a out rushing of air in the tavern.

He looks around him and gets his bearings, he runs for the door the words echoing in his mind. "Don't look around, run straight from the inn to the room with the portals.

As he runs across the bridge leading to the portals and the big floating crystal he sees a Elf with horns.

Redcap thinks: "Hmmmm... what is this? I must investigate.

I wonder if it would talk to me, I mean it looks like a lass but it has horns and Mistress said in this city none are prey.

Figthing the urge to stab something on the way through town he walks behind the ....Elf?

Nice form.. check

Pretty smile ... check

Hair .... err I guess thats hair, Mistress always said our enemies be vermin, why not one thats a deerthing.

One last check.

Prettier than Cwen ... not close, but then not all can match the looks of a goddess, still though I have never really explored the city, maybe no one will mind if i follow the elfdeer, deerelf, horned pretty one, around"

Redcap looks around and nods to the Horde guards and follows.

Maegannon

Her heart sank. She had overstepped her bounds and poked an open wound with her nosiness. She hadn't meant to, and she definitely hadn't known.

Then she felt guilty, because while she was upset for upsetting him, it also meant that he was no longer tied down.

She muttered to herself in druidic, "I'm a terrible person for being happy for you". and watched sadly as he walked off.

Something brushed against her, and she jumped. She spun around, seeing nothing.

"I think.. I'm starting to lose my mind." She said, a sheepish smile on her face. "Perhaps I'll leave you two to sit and chat. I probably should go visit my .. Go visit Gralin." She fidgeted slightly. "Have a wonderful day, little miss, Miss Villmah, Laron."

She dipped low in curtsey, hopped into the air, sprouted feathers and talons, and took off out of the inn with a woosh.

Muttering in a tounge the shadowwalkers of Grim used amongst themselves Redcap looked at the deerthing ..now birdthing and thought of The Druids of Grim, "I guess that explains that, I wonder what else I can discover here?"
