This is something I've come across only a couple of times so far on these new forums, so it could likely be something very difficult to track down, but I did want to bring it up for the record.
I have only encountered this when doing a quick reply and from editing a post. Both of these take place on the same page (as opposed to a full reply bringing you to another page, and an advanced edit also bringing you to another page).
Posting/editing in this manner rarely will just not work. The browser spinny thing will just spin. Going back in the browser history to the page you were going to reply to, or going to edit, and then choosing the "full" reply/edit option works flawlessly.
Like I said, I've only seen this happen a couple of times now, so most of the time the quick versions work fine.
