Is something bugged?

Are you missing a feature that was available on the old board?

Not guaranteeing I'll do it, but I'll do my best to make the new place as "homey" as the old one and hopefully you'll end up liking this one better :)

Not really a problem that I'm having, but I noticed some of the forums that haven't had anything posted in them recently are showing dates of the last post as 1/1/1970.

I'm not sure if that is a side-effect from the transfer or if the boards are merely rolling back in time.

it'll update once someone posts in those forums

Morticia,

Am I the only Chrome user? I'm seeing quite a few UI elements that are just poorly rendering, or can be completely broken. Specifically, the Hime/Forum/Blogs buttons (the whole upper left corner is a right mess UI wise...took me a while to find where I log in).

Then, when I forgot my password, the "click here" link didn't look like a link. Had to hunt for the actual clickable anchor.

I can put together some screenshots and send them along, if you'd like.

I've noticed the same two issues Emyi mentions in the first post.

I am using chrome and everything looks fine (although it is different and taking me a bit of getting used to).

I've also noticed (on the worgen theme at least) that polls are kind of hard to read.

It's light gray text on white background.

Not seeing this infamous "shoutbox", and I'm using Firefox, if that helps.

Go to the forum index and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Not there, looked already.

Hmm, well I'm using firefox also, and I see it no problem.

It's not at the VERY bottom, maybe you scrolled past it?

...trust me....It's not there for me.

might be another artmod thing, let me check

I am also using Firefox, and am not seeing any shoutbox. I'm also using AdBlocker Plus. Attempted disabling ABP on TNG, no go, still no shoutbox.

I bet the shoutbox is a lie, designed to draw Jeedup and I into a web of adventure.

Firefox and AdBlocker Plus here and I can see it. Must be a mod sort of thinger.

Mortica

it was an artmod thing, like the front page. I must have the overall artmod settings wrong, because it seems to not treat you as either a registered user or a moderator. anyway, should be able to see it now.

If you could post some screenshots? I have noticed when I'm using Chrome that it sometimes, for lack of a better explanation, times out on rendering .png images and garbles them. Refreshing the page fixes it for me.

Should the shoutbox archive be open to the public?

Emyi
12-03-2010, 04:37 PM
It's open for anyone to view, but you have top register to use it.

Mortica

at the rate people are shouting, I'll probably end up getting pruned every couple of days. Is there a reason why regular users shouldn't see the archive?

Just a random issue that I ran into that probably won't be a big problem, after my name change my old password wasn't getting accepted. It was easy enough to fix by doing the lost/forgotten password thing, but it was a tad bit annoying.

Mortica

there's something funky with the cookies since the upgrade, but passwords have always remained the same when the name changed. dunno.

Would it be possible to get a way to scroll through the RP ads in the upper right? Or a place where they are all together?

That's a great idea. Let me see what I can do for making a page for them.

The advanced reply window is tiny compared to the rest of the site when viewed at high resolution. It's only like 300-400px wide, and it's rather infuriating :P

Also, there's a style disparity between the main forum list page of the goblin theme (forum.php) and the actual thread list page (forumdisplay.php).

Mortica

I changed the max width, so unless you are on a really humongous screen, you shouldn't even see a problem.

Also:
On the upper right hand side of the editor box there is a A/A and ^/v buttons. The ^/v buttons will increase or decrease the size of the editor box to your liking.

24inch at 1920x1080, so ya... that's probably it :P Anyway, it looks a LOT better now than it did this morning. Earlier the whole thing was compressed into maybe 600px, it's now properly spanning the same with as the rest of the site.

Still having style disparity on the gobbo theme tho :/

do you mean the blue-ish buttons/title bar, or the icons? Both are on my list of things to do. If it's something else, let me know :)

Is there a way to format the shout box? The text is too small and the colors are hard for me to see . . . even with my glasses.

Other than that, it's working great for me. Thanks!

edit: I'll look into it. It looks like the ability to change the font size is only in the pay-for version.

Aye, that's what I'm referring to :P

Noticing that text for moderated posts is difficult to read with the worgen theme. Not impossible, but it's not easy on the eyes.

EDIT: Example below for quick and easy reference

Is there any way I can turn the shoutbox completely off? I noticed after I made a comment on a blog, it announced that I'd done so in the box and also added me to the active users. I'd rather not be in it or see it at all, but I can't find a setting in my control panel to disable it.

you can collapse it to make it just the header bar by clicking the little up arrow on the right side of the header. You can collapse any of the forums sections you don't read that way also.
