Physical Features: Tall, lithe toned body. Hair in a topknot. She has a savage looking scar on her neck over her larynx that gives her a speech impediment. Upae also looks a little "off" for a NE Female. Her features are slightly more feral and angular. Almost hard looking. Her lower canine teeth are slightly larger than normal.
Special Abilities: Nothing of note other than a natural hunting skill.
Positive Personality Traits: Loyal, willing to please, light hearted.
Negative Personality Traits: Shy, sometimes withrawn, can be overly aggressive in the heat of battle.
Misc. Quirks: Likes to sleep outdoors, cannot pronounce her "L" or "G"s properly.
History: Upae is the resurrected and altered body of the deceased Troll Huntress Lupa'Jin. Lupa in her latter days was cursed by the troll Loa's Ula'Tek and Dambala, who were preparing her to become an avatar of their power in Azeroth. That , in combination with the revelation she was the daughter of the mad Witch Doctor Zalazane and a substance abuse drove her insane.
She was slain in battle against the Swordwaltzers in Duskwood. In a gesture of grief and frustration the undead rogue banshee Clys tore out the throat of Lupa's corpse and drained it of blood.
Later the Swordwaltzer Kurohane discovered the body and buried it in a shallow grave beside the road in Duskwood, found the family heirloom pendant belonging to the NE Rogue Barke Daertha who had been a secret lover of Lupa's at one point.
On hearing of the death of her daughter Lupa and knowing of the intentions of Ula'Tek and Dambala, Yayo'Jin the mystic of Revantusk Village made an unprecedented plea to the benevolent Loa's Shirvallah and Bethek to keep her daughter from being resurrected by Ula'Tek and Dambala into evil servitude.
The two loas contacted Elune via divine messenger. She tasked her grandson Remulos to assist the loas and together they resurrected Lupa'Jin. However they also altered her physical form. Using the power of the Moonwells they changed her appearance to that of a young female Kaldorei in an effort to hide her from the attention of Ula'Tek and Dambala. The transformation was not perfect however. The casual Kaldorei observer would detect something odd about Upae, something almost feral and primitive. She's not ugly per se, her features are simply harder and more angular than the soft faces of the rest of her race.
Also, they could not completely heal the savage tear in her throat from the undead Clys. Because of this Upae has a slight speech impediment.
The Master Druid Dentrite Starblaze of Moonglade found the young woman naked and alone in the Moonglade forest. He undertook to teach and train her as instructed by Remulos. She was a quick learner and he saw much potential in the woman. She came to him with no language ability and no memory of her previous life, aside from her name.
Recently Upae ( the name he gave her as that was the best pronounciation of "Lupa" that the woman was able to manage when asked her name) re-emerged from a lengthy stay in Moonglade to continue her adventures in the world. She met the young druid Amadare Redthorn and the two became fast friends. She also took on the mantle of the Tears of the Phoenix.
She has begun to question her missing history however and has indicated an interest in researching her past. This has been stonewalled by Dentrite and Remulos himself who knows the otherworldy dangers that would bring if she became aware of her true heritage.
Update. Remembrance achieved. Her adventures in Duskwood brought her in close proximity to her gravesite and the place of her death. memories and nightmares started coming to her. Then she stumbled across Clys and Kittsu, who gave that last push towards her regain all her lost memories of her life as Lupa'Jin..
Now, Upae is fully aware of her nature and history. Strangely she didnt regain her old hunter abilities, so she continues to train as a druid. If she was an oddity before, now she is a wolf free to wander among the sheep. :twisted:
