History: Ansha Stormstar was born to a pair of commoners in the Night Elf city of Suramar, shortly before the War of the Ancients. When Suramar was sacked by the Legion, Ansha was separated from her parents and attacked by a felhound. After a lengthy chase, where the beast was obviously toying with her, a House Ravencrest soldier named Altharion Stormstar intervened, saving the child's life. Altharion took care of Ansha for the remainder of the War, and following, when it was determined her parents had not survived. Due to the huge psychological trauma of the Legion's razing of Suramar and her encounter with a felhound, Ansha developed dissociative fugue, and came to believe Altharion was her biological father, replacing her memory of actual events with false memories of a more pleasant nature. After the War, Altharion became one of the first druids to be taught by Malfurion Stormrage, one of the first Druids of the Claw. When Ansha was old enough, she took up the path of the Claw as well.
When the Burning Legion returned, Ansha was present only for a few skirmishes, but was sent away along with a train of refugees to the relative safety of Auberdine shortly before the Battle of Mount Hyjal. Her father, however, was present at Hyjal, and was among those who fell buying time for Malfurion's plan. When Ansha learned of this, it nearly broke her. Bereft of the anchor for the delusion that she had never seen the carnage of Suramar, Ansha slowly started to regain the memory of her true past. Forced to face reality after millenia of avoiding the issue, Ansha's mental state deteriorated tremendously. Turning to alcohol to dull the pain, Ansha spent several years existing more than 'living,' unable to enjoy a life without her beloved father-figure, and unable to cope with the fact that she had been living a lie for over 10,000 years. In the end, a romance with another druidess named Rhysi finally saved her from the slow death she had been dying. Given a reason to live again, Ansha gave up alcohol, and finally started to both face her past, and to heal the considerable scars it had left. Though eventually Rhysi left the charted world of Azeroth for reasons she never divulged to Ansha, the two parted on good terms, and Ansha no longer dreads the thought of existing.
She has been missing for several years now, and was last seen in the form of a bear, tearing into the lines of Sunfury fighters during the Battle for Tempest Keep.
