((See: News Release from Ratchet (http://www.wow-tng.org/showthread.php?p=323963&posted=1#post323963)))
Krom Blacktooth has sent out a call for willing soldiers to scour the Barrens for the killer responsible for the wretched killings, but more importantly to rid the land of a recent influx of Alliance outriders, which he suspects will only get worse. Blacktooth fortells of invasion and sabotage if the threat is not dealt with immediately, and many around him are starting to agree. Meanwhile, Lord Jaster Re-Tasj has secretly contacted the leadership of numerous Alliance groups of one stripe or another, believing that the murderer described in the papers is not a random blood elf or felblood, succumbing to their addiction, but one of his own order, Aleria Fadeleaf, suffering symptoms of withdrawal after being separated from her constant source of arcane magic, the silvered steel crown now in the brusiers’ possession. He seeks to locate and capture her before the Horde find the opportunity to do the same. However, with soldiers arriving from every corner of the globe, more interested in prospect of fighting the other side than to track down a local killer, it’s clear that the task of both Blacktooth and Lord Jaster is about to complicate in ways neither could have foreseen.
((Time: 7:00 pm. Sunday December 20th
Place: The Barrens
Open to All members of the Horde and the Alliance.
Blacktooth's Call to Arms - A World PVP Event
Members of the Alliance and the Horde will arrive in the Barrens at 7:00pm on the goblin’s watch, both to search for Aleria Fadeleaf, and to kill as many members of the opposing faction as possible. Each side will have one and a half hours to find Aleria, who will be shadowmelded in the Barrens. The Alliance wins if they find her, the Horde wins if they find her. In the event that no one finds her, the match will be considered a draw.
Alliance may contact Lord Jaster Re-Tasj to join the search. Any member of the horde who would like to spearhead the Horde’s effort on behalf of Krom Blacktooth are certainly welcome to, just contact me first. ))

Ok, ummm... I understand what happens if Alliance finds you, but what about if Horde does? Would we not kill you then? >.> Just wondering))

Krom wants the killer to face justice, but he's likely to reprimand someone who takes all of the glory for themselves and just kills her. You find me and the event ends. The least you have to do is wave.

(( I don't get this. Aleria's a tavernkeep. She's honest to God not that important to the Horde. ))

[ It's not like Thrall is ordering the army after her. This Krom Blacktooth person is putting a bounty on her. ]

((Krom takes his job too seriously, and he's honestly more concerned about the recent sleu of people from the Alliance trapsing all over the Barrens. He's also hoping that catching a dangerous criminal will win him a ticket to the front lines, instead of being stuck in the Crossroads.))

Sorry I haven't looked in on this thread for a while, I mean what kind of RP follows after? If Horde finds you and turns you over to Krom, will you be executed? Rescued by Alliance? Imprisoned? What?))

((Isn't half the fun of a story finding out what happens? Let it play out instead of needing to know how it ends before it even begins, kind of dull to read a book backwards if ya ask me.))

((Some countries actually read their books backwards. Well, okay it's forwards to them, but whatever. Toe-may-to, Toe-mah-to.))

((I actually haven't the slightest clue as to how this is going to end. I will block attempts to kill me outright, of course, but I'm leaving quite a bit to whoever finds me.))

No one's found me yet, or come close. So I will give out a general hint, here at 8.

Ratchet Brusier's Report: Sightings have been reported between Ratchet and Northwatch Hold along the coast.

Aleria has been found. Credit for the capture goes to the Alliance.

Where were you?
Aleria Fadeleaf

Closer to Northwatch Hold than I was to Ratchet. Up in the mountainous area between the two "levels" of flat land for the Southsea Pirates.

Crap. I checked that area a couple of times too. I must have been just far enough away.

There has been a complication and it will take some time for me to decide upon the outcome.

I am sad I missed this. I was stuck at my in-laws.

For anyone who'd be interested in doing this in the future, I do have a couple of suggestions:
1) Choose a smaller zone. Barrens, Feralas, Winterspring...all bad ideas, because they're enormous in both area and vertical range.
OR
2) Give a hint or two. Asking people to search such a large area without having any way to at least eliminate a few locations is just asking them to ride around in circles. Because of the Wretched thing, I started Sanctuary's search at Dreadmist Peak and the Oasises (Oasisi? Oasisis...eseses...), the largest areas of concentrated magic in the zone. After those areas proved empty, we were stuck in a rather dull wandering pattern.

Shadowmeld was overkill. Just pop an Elixir of Camouflage and hide in a bush or something if you do something like this again.

This event was so, so much fun. My congrats to you for creating something inclusive, unique, and really just FUN! I had to have walked RIGHT on top of you a few times near those pirates. XD
I hope more things like this happen on TN. :)

/sigh. I'm sorry about this, the entire time I worried about whether or not things were too easy, without realizing that I made it rediculously hard.

It was brilliant fun, even though I missed most of it. I got in at the very end...
If you ever do it again, just choose a smaller zone, as someone suggested! A contested zone would be nice, too, to prevent horrid troll hunters who happen in at the last legs of the contest ((>=])) from having to consider whether to snipe the prize or not.

Well, about this, I've come to a conclusion. The contest rules stipulated that whoever finds me first wins. Aleria had already been found by the time you had intercepted us outside of Ratchet.
It affects the story at the very least, though. Having to leave in such a haste, no one picked up the crown. Terrible things ensued.

Here are some of the Alliance shots of the whole thing-- I didn't get any PvP ones [SORRY!] even though we actually did run into quite a few TNG'ers - Hey Cabriel! and Zephyr! - These are all near to PvP, and after it.
http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n469/ravynsfaery/WoWScrnShot_122009_221951.jpg
Jaster, Blastbrew, Aleria, Shadowclaw, Cytiana, Qiraji and pets/minions.
-The Alliance escorts a feral Aleria back to safety after locating her south of Ratchet. Unbeknownst to them, they are followed-
Shortly after this, we were ambushed by Vaaldis, Cyrass, Qiraji, and a few others (Some warrior I don't know, and another, I believe). Sorry for lack of shots!
http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n469/ravynsfaery/WoWScrnShot_122009_230622.jpg
Aleria, Rohan, Cytiana, Shadowclaw, Dirt, Trigin, pets and Goblins.
-After managing to escape Ratchet, we ended up in another Goblin port of Booty Bay, to decide exactly what to do with Aleria, and where to take her. The end result? To Stormwind, the long way. Through Stranglethorn, Duskwood, Westfall, then Elwynn-
Right before leaving Short John Mithril or whatever his name is yelled out for the quest. Kained, Googe, I immediately thought of you two down there the other night and started facepalming.
http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n469/ravynsfaery/WoWScrnShot_122109_000139.jpg
Thistlefae, Aleria, Rohan and Shadowclaw
-After most of the muscle has gone their own seperate ways, the precious few left sit to try and 'fix' what's plaguing Aleria, or at least bring her out of the seeming coma she is in. The Arcane riddled waters of the Moonwell provided the solution, for the moment-
After this, there were no more shots, but props to others who showed- Vyn (Tulars), Verwinala, Shadowsan (? A lower rogue, I cannot remember his name well), Dolorem, and any others who participated. It was quite interesting, to see a TON of TNG'ers in one spot! Let's do it again sometime, yeah? :D
Good good, I'm glad this went in our favor!! Sorry about not showing, funeral...you know. But hey, I'll be keeping an eye out for follow up oportunities. Glad to see some of the Watch about ^^
thanks for throwing this out there for others to participate in. =)
