Welcome one and all to Azeroth's first SmashBall League! Teams will be pitted against each other on the fierce fields of SmashBall! The athletes will compete for fame, glory and the occasional sack of gold! But, what is SmashBall? Well, let me tell you!
SmashBall is a friendly, competitive sport where one team will attempt to score more points than the opposing. Each team will be composed of 5 players on the field at a time!
One team will be the Runners. They are the ones who will have the SmashBall and attempt to score.
One team will be the Smashers. They are the other team who will attempt to do everything they can to stop the Runners from reaching the goal!
A simple concept, but as everyone knows, there are rules to everything, including SmashBall!
The Rules
To allow for an even playing field, all athletes are required to meet the equipment policy set in place by the founders of this organization. Depending on your level of experience, players will be required to wear vendor quality items. Your team may coordinate with each other to come up with a scheme to best fit your composition!
[Note: All VISIBLE armor must be of white quality, crafted, looted or from a vendor. Rings, trinkets and amulets may be of any quality of your choice.]
The SmashBall must be passed by the Runners every 15-20 seconds to a team mate, if any are available.
The SmashBall may NOT be passed before 15 seconds pass from the time of receiving the SmashBall
There will be:
No Mounts.
No Pets. [Hunter, Warlock, Mage, Shaman]
No Paladin Bubbles. [Priest bubbles pending]
No Stealth/Invisibility.
Smashers may only focus their attacks upon the Runner with the Ball. [Pending approval due to the ability to figure out just WHO has the ball. I am looking to addons to watch combat logs and pick out specific actions.]
How to Play
The Runners will start at one end of the arena.
The Smashers will start in the middle of the arena.
The Runners MUST get the ball carrier to the opposite side of the arena/field in order to score. One point will be awarded to the Runners for each member still alive.
The Runners will have three rounds to gather as many points as possible. Each round will last three minutes or until the Runners have scored.
Once the three rounds are up, the Runners become the Smashers and the Smashers become the Runners and three rounds repeat.
At the end of these rounds, the team with the highest score wins!
But Who All is Invited?
EVERYONE!
We will have a Horde side sponsor as well as an Alliance side sponsor who will help to organize the games to assure that everything will run smoothly.
For the beginning of the season, for testing purposes, Horde teams will only be pitted against Horde teams and Alliance teams will only be pitted against Alliance teams.
But just how will we be able to play each other? Simple!
Both the Nagrand Arena and The Maul located in Feralas are perfect locations to pit one team against another!

Above is an example of the Nagrand arena playing field! The area marked in red will be the playing field in which the SmashBall game will take place. The Runners will begin at one end of the field, the Smashers in the middle. Once the Runners get their ball to the opposite end of the field, points will be awarded!
The Maul in Feralas is the perfect size and shape playing field for SmashBall.
I WANT TO JOIN. HOW DO I DO IT?!
Calm down.
We are looking for two teams right now to test out the rules and the arenas for functionality. If any members of the Horde are interested in slapping together a test team for this, please contact Broxigan via PMs OR you can join the Azerothian SmashBall league social group at:
The Azerothian SmashBall League

We hope that within the next few weeks, we will work out any kinks we may have with the rules or play set. Once we have all the kinks hammered away, the real season of SmashBall will begin!
[Note: This is still a work in progress. Rules and locations may change. I will provide updates as applicable. Hope to see you on the field!]
