Greetings fellow members of the Horde of Twisting Nether! It is with much excitement to announce the formation of the Ebon Vanguard, a new raiding group with the focus on getting as much done as possible while utilizing our time.
With the way current raiding is, often times people find themselves pugging every week for a group to raid with, to see content, and usually walk away empty handed. Enter Ebon Vanguard, a group comprised of focused individuals together as a team to enjoy the content of World of Warcraft, while pursuing endeavors that a small portion of the WoW Community try for.
Mission Statement: To be a group of focused and dedicated members of the Horde, we are to use our time effectively and advance within raids to encounter progression, obtain achievements, gain titles, and the spoils of war that come with them.
The Ideal:
The Ebon Vanguard is a raid group, not a guild. Members will not be required to abandon their existing guild ties to join. What we do expect however are our members to observe proper raid etiquette and preparation, have a smart and calm head on your shoulders and always carry an ambition to improve and challenge yourself further. We value using our time effectively, and seek to make the most of that time we commit to raids and progression without being bogged down into a day after day ordeal. With that in mind, we advocate raiding only on two to three nights maximum a week, looking to spend no more than three hours per raid (the option to continue an extra half hour available beyond that if the raiders can reach a consensus to do so).
We will not be satisfied with simply downing the easiest boss encounters, hard modes and achievements from the latest content will be at the forefront of our agenda. With achievements, titles and the ever sought after mounts ( i.e. Proto Drakes ) as targets, we’d be looking to operate within a selective set amount of players to ensure quality and consistent progression. This ambition is something we’d also advocate in five mans with their increasing relevance in future patches. In striving to be such a vanguard for the community, competence and maturity in our raiders will be a must. Our goal is to establish a strong foundation in ten mans together upon which twenty five mans may be possible. Ultimately Ebon Vanguard will be catering towards raiders looking for a tightly knit environment as opposed to an uncoordinated crowd.
Ebon Vanguard will not be for everyone. With efficiency being a cornerstone of the group, accountability of each member will always be a reality in ensuring against any potential liability to the raid. Securing a spot amidst the vanguard will require expertise in playing one’s class or at the absolute minimum the capacity, potential and enthusiasm for self improvement. For those in the latter, continued membership will be dependant on their personal progress within their time in the association.
