I've been looking towards the cunning family for awile now for a-number of reasons, and currently I do have a pvp cunning pet, an eagle, for the disarm ability. However, I recently tamed a Chimera and I'm wondering how useful that would be. I'm also wondering how useful a Netheray would be, for its interupt ability?

Any other hunters have any advice for this guy who is new and still learning?

Personally, I detest flying pets for any kind of close-quarters combat. They simply get in the way, neutralizing whatever benefit they bring to the game.

My most successfull pvp pet is still the Gurubashi Adder I tamed in ZG. The poison spit ability seems to be unnerving to a degree, and he has mad stamina and armor.

Get a crab. Pinch holds people in place so you can continue shooting them in the face. And I'm pretty sure it does damage too or something.

Now, I never got my hunter past 22... but my whole guild is filled with them. And I've heard while oogling pretty things to tame that a Chimera is the best PVP pet? But I've also heard they get in the way of EVERYTHING. I hear a Dragonhawk is good, but that might be too 'Hey look, it's like I'm lvl 10 again and just needed a freaking pet.'

Crabs bro they have that pin ability that really forces alot of classes like paladins to use gcd's. or forcing them to pop freedom witch makes them vulnerable to your frost trap.

Just be careful about pinning arms warriors. We get pretty pissed off (It procs second wind, a 10% heal and 20 rage over 10 seconds) and will usually cleave your pet in half, it can give you the time you need to get away from us though. It can be very dangerous to leave your pet in melee with a warrior for an extensive time with how squishy hunter pets tend to be at 80 vs a well geared pvper.

There are afew pets I noticed that can stand against melee classes, but they are mostly tenacity. I have a warpstalker for example, his ability that redirects damage from me to him, is fairly useful, also because i can heal him to full fast because of my talents. Ret pallies still pose a challenge however. Rhinos are interesting. I have five pet slots availible, so I have alot of pets :).

The way hunters tend to use crab pets is to have it stay following them and just use it for pin/freedom/roar of sacrifice. Crabs are utility first and foremost, and rarely get sent into combat or left there after being used.

Gorillas also have a pummel, but I don't know if it's very effective or if any PvP hunters really use it.

Gorillas still bugged casters can continue casting through the pummel
