A New Jim Rome Convert

So.. while waiting for an appointment I usually have on Friday in my car, munching some lunch, I flipped through my radio stations and happened upon the Jim Rome Show. I was familiar with him on the TV spot, Jim Rome is Burning, but this was the first I'd heard him on the radio.

It turns out it was something called the "Smack Off '09" where a bunch of listeners call in with takes on.... well, anything and everything, and apparently if it sucks.. they get cut.. or I think Jim said 'run' ... or.. something.

Still, I am intrigued.. though I don't know the rules of this show yet.. I think I might have become a fan...

I dunno, the last call I heard before I had to leave to go to my appointment was some guy named Brad in Corona.. or something.

But if every show is like the Smack Off, I think I like it.

Man Ive always hated Jim Rome. Im much more of a P.T.I./Around the Horn sports fan. One guy's cynical, snide view on the sports world is just not what im into. Try out the former if you want to see sports media.

Yeah Cristok, one of the things I've noticed about Rome is you need to learn if he's being serious or sarcastic.. since he sounds exactly the same!

The easy way is to assume he's always being sarcastic, then you can pick out his serious points based on what would not make sense as sarcasm.

Hmm constant sarcasm....you don't get enough of that in WoW? I just think the guys an A-hole is all. Everyone has an A hole though. Rome fans get 2!

the best thing about Rome is the longer you listen the better it is as you see all the lore and 'gloss' develop. i've been listening since 1994.
