So, this DotA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_of_the_Ancients) inspired gem, Demigod (http://www.demigodthegame.com/), is really fun. The artwork is fantastic with a sort of "Pan's Labyrinth" feel to it, and against humans the gameplay is a blast.

Definitely worth a try if you're a DotA fan, or RTS/RPG fan in general.

Whacha got? Does okay on my work laptop with two gigs, as long as the map's not a lava-y environment one.

It's -really- good if you like multiplayer, but if you're going to be alone, do -NOT- waste your money. There isn't any single player action besides fighting AI bots in the multiplayer arenas.

However, if you are a fan of RTS and if you enjoy multiplayer then Demigod is great. I followed it from the day it was announced and I do quite enjoy it. ^_^ During the game the stories are all but forgotten, but if you want to know what exactly you're playing as, they are quite interesting.

They're going to be adding some new content at some point in the future too, so there will be more Demigods (hopefully), units, and more maps later.

Sweeet. What guy do you play? I'm between The Oak and The Rook--can't decide my favorite.

Maybe we should get a game going, eh?

Toshiba Satellite A205. 1GB of ram, and about 20 gigs of free space to download crap with. Another problem might be my graphics card. This laptop isn't really made for gaming, but rather for general use, so teh graphics card is God-awful.

Mm.. you might be able to run it. Minimum is:

* Windows XP SP3 / Vista SP1
* 2.4 GHz Processor
* 512 MB Available System Memory
* 8 GB Available Hard Drive Space
* 128 MB 3D Video Card (ATI Radeon X1600 / Nvidia GeForce 6800 or better)

If yours is the one with the Intel GMA X3100 for graphics, you could probably do it, though that shared memory would make it super laggy on large maps.

Hmm. That may not go so well. I only have 1.6GHz for Ye Ol' Processor. The video card seems to be alright. 128 MB, as said in the requirements.

I'm feeling lucky. I'll try it out.

Uh remember pc game "requirements" are what you need to make the thing install and play on the lowest (read god awful) settings and actually launch the game, in other words they are the bare ass butt ugly minimum. Meaning you can play it but it will not "look" good and probably wont play smoothly either especially not online.

You really need to meet recommended requirements or it isnt worth it.

Fool! Do you not understand the beauty of flank tactics, hit and runs, blitzkrieg and area of denial tactics? You shall....LEARN TO APPLY WHAT YOU HAD LEARNT FROM WoW PVP INTO THE RTS!

I have strategy, I'm just the fastest executor at said strategy. I get owned by the shortcut using masses (because for once I refuse to learn them)

I bounce between the Vampire Lord, Regulus, Unclean Beast and the Rook. No particular favorite between the four. It just depends on how I feel like playing.

A game at some point would be interesting, if Stardock can get their servers stabilized.

Fool! Professionals talk logistics! If you wanna win, the best way is to strike before the enemy could start building his forces, preferably your attack will set his economy back while you continue to thrive! If the enemy is too busy trying to defend himself, he can't counterattack and you more or less won the battle! Learn and love your shortcuts!

I got this game, It is a game that is extremely fun...for a while.
I honestly HATE DoTA to the bitter end, but this game makes the play style pretty fun.
Demigod is a more stripped down/ prettied up version of DoTA (AKA DoTA for the simple minded)
All the characters are powerful in their own way, none are insanely OP...that being said... Regulus is the biggest pain in the ass to ever grace my screen.

PS. Stardock needs to devote more time to Sins of a Solar Empire mini expansion.
