As the dawn of a new season of light and life crests over the horizon and warms even the rolling tundra of the North, I join the Argent Crusade in calling all worthy champions to the Argent Tournament for what shall be known as the Tourney of Icecrown!
Hosted by the Fabled Order, this Tourney shall be a three-day event of competitions of prowess and feasting, both commemorating the mighty blows already struck against the Lich King and honing our skills for the battles to come. The Tourney shall have a main event hosted each day by Tournament Marshals among the Order, which shall begin to enroll participants at 9pm Realm Time each evening with the event to start at 9:30pm. The major events are as follows:
The Race of Northrend: Friday, May 1st 9pm
Races shall be held for those with epic steeds as well as normal steeds across Northend, along a route to be announced prior to the start. Riders must show their horsemanship and daring as they navigate the harsh terrain of Northend and elude the snares of the perilous beasts that lurk there.
Epic Race:
1st Prize--80g
Normal Race:
1st Prize--50g
The Grand Melee: Saturday, May 2nd 9pm
A melee tournament shall commence where combatants duel in as many level categories as the number of participants allows. You must first test your hand against those of your same class, and then the triumphant of each class will contest with those of each other class to determine a Champion of the Tourney and awarded a prize of gold for their valor.
Lvl 80 Bracket:
1st Prize--100g
2nd Prize 50g
Under 80:
1st Prize--Varies upon number of combatants and brackets
2nd Prize--Varies upon number of combatants and brackets
The Joust of Heroes: Sunday, May 3rd 9pm
The final event of the Tourney shall be a glorious single-elimination Joust in which each brave rider shall tilt against each challenger until one Champion stands. This shall be open to all who can heft a lance.
1st Prize--150g
2nd prize--50g
Send word to your allies! I hope to see the banners of many clans unfurled beneath the setting sun and starry skies that shall shine down upon the glinting armor of those honorable combatants who rise up to test their mettle! Each main event will be followed by a great feast and may be accompanied by smaller challenges and events.

Also, as Cristok of the Grim has already hosted a Tournament among the Horde, I would encourage a possible Horde Tournament to occur alongside our own Tourney, so that the Champions of the Horde and Alliance may vie against each other for the honor of Tourney Champion. Or, perhaps, those who have won their Tourney this Sunday may come to test their mettle against our own champions.

Ronzak of a A Taste for Death was the winner of my tourney, so he may represent the Horde unless another Tourney can be organized.

Update: Race Course, devised and overseen by Avatar Aerudar Starwatcher
The First Fabled Order Northrend Rally
For those who wish to know, and familiarize themselves with the route ahead of time, here is the race course through the Continent of Northend. This race will largely be freestyle but below are the course requirements that must be followed, or else face disqualification. I shall be monitoring the race both as we shall all be in a raid together so I can see you on the map, and I shall be following the race, and giving a play by play, on my Flying mount.
1) The race shall begin at Crusader's Pinnacle in Icecrown
2) From there racers will proceed south, through the Argent Crusade encampment and into the Crystalsong Forest.
3) Racers will turn easterward and then northward(at their own discretion) and travel into the Stormpeaks.
4) Participants will then make a quick loop through Stormpeaks and enter Zul'Drak through the small mountain pass that is directly south of the K3 outpost. (It is possible to go down this without falling at all, but at great speed, if you end up missing the last rather sharp turn to stay on the slope and jump the rest of the way you should only take a few thousand damage.)
Caveat) For those of you who are not particularly familiar with Stormpeaks, if you attempt to take a straight line form the entrance between it and Crystalsong and the thin Mountain trail, you will run through a Mine-Field, which will not only do some damage to you, but in all likelihood delay you greatly as well.
5) Racers will proceed, by whatever path they see fit through Zul'Drak and enter to the Grizzly Hills, the one requirement for this is that no racer may pass through Drak'tharon Keep, you must take one of the two stairs that are east of the Keep.
6) Racers will transverse the Grizzly Hills and on into Howling Fjord, with the requirement that the point of transition between the two must by the snowy mountain pass to the east.
7) A long loop will be made around Howling Fjord, again, this is at the racers discretion but all racer must cross the rope bridge in the south across the gorge, and no racer may jump down into that gorge(i.e. no cutting through Valgarde).
8) Racers will proceed from the Howling Fjord, through Western Grizzly Hills, across the Dragonblight, into the Borean Tundra, finishing at the main gates to Valiance Keep.
I attempted this myself a few days ago, with Crusader Aura up(I also have Pursuit of Justice) it took me approximately 1/2 hour to complete this course, but since I was staying almost entirely to roads(which is not a requirement) and slowed fairly often to check my course, it is more than possible that the winner of this race will do it in about 25 minutes or so.
There will be several winners for this race, in recognition that some people will not have Crusader Aura or Pursuit of Justice.(if for whatever reason someone without either is the 1st place overall finisher, he/she will be given both prizes)
As I said, I shall be flying above you as the race progresses, giving color commentary, if you should be attacked by the Horde(unlikely in the course I have chosen, and with the fact that it is rather hard to dismount someone from an epic mount) I shall endeavor to assist you so that you can get clear.
On the other hand, since, other than small list of specific passages everyone must go through, the choice of course is entirely up to each racer, if you should aggro a mob, of any kind, which dismounts or delays you, you are on your own(since, with knowing the course ahead of time, you should be able to plot a course that avoid most, if not all, such things). The same goes if you should find yourself riding through a Horde encampment and the guards should dismount you.
If you have any questions whatsoever about this race you can either post them here, or ask me in game.

I have heard word that the Races, the first event of this peaceful Tourney, was disrupted by a warparty of more than a dozen of the Grim. Once again, the Grim have proven their dishonorable nature and the insatiable depth of their bloodlust. I anticipate some of them may be quick to argue that it was merely a just reprisal for our own knights participating in an attack upon their Tournament in Horde lands. This bleated defense can be swiftly pierced by the truth that their own Tournament was staged to rally support for their continue campaign of bloodshed against the Alliance, whereas our own Tourney was in the spirit of the Argent Crusade's own aspiration towards peace and a united front against the Scourge.
So whereas our actions were as a righteous sword brought to bear upon a nest of adders plotting malicious intentions, I condemn anew the actions of the Grim in their brutish disruption of peace.

Irontoe, you dolt.
Keltag had to fight in your place because you fled the scene; the Horde have already won.
(Also, Dolt is completely IC. =p)

I never got to fight Keltag. If I had I would have proven that I should have been the one to take on Ronzak!

That's such bullshit. I had to leave. No one said anything about fighting the Horde winner afterwards. All Nox said was "Tourney's over, go to the feast tables." and I left!
You don't nominate the runner up to fight the Horde on the spur of the moment. You arrange a time when both parties are available.

I'm the true champion, Ronzak is a phony.
I let him win to prove a point, that orcs are even inferior to those weaker living humans.

The Icecrown Tourney has concluded, with the following results:
Winner of the Northrend Race: P.T. Irontoe of Fordragon Imports
1st Place in the Grand Melee: Lady Caitlyn of Fordragon Imports
2nd Place in the Grand Melee: Master Natarazono of Fabled Order
1st Place in the Joust: P.T. Irontoe of Fordragon Imports
2nd Place in the Joust: Keltag of Fordragon Imports
Overall Champion of the Alliance: P.T. Irontoe of Fordragon Imports
At that point, I believed the events were concluded as I did not see any representative of the Horde present. Thus, as events concluded Irontoe went on to other business and only after that point did Ronzak of the Horde make his appearance. I deemed it unlikely that each of the champions would find it worth the bother of trying to make an appointment for a showdown in the future, and so to conclude events I deferred the role of Alliance champion to the 2nd place Jouster, Keltag of Fordragon Imports. Keltag and Ronzak proceeded to have a heated joust in which Ronzak barely won the day.
I certainly would encourage Irontoe to send emissaries to Ronzak to set a time at which they might joust so he can challenge him for the title of overall champion. That is certainly his due as the champion of the Alliance, and from what I had seen Ronzak seems honorable enough to acknowledge such a challenge. If such an arrangement is made, please do make a post here so any who wish could attend the showdown.
In regards to the heated words by Rohannith of Scarlet Dawn, though he did joust admirably and was eliminated by Irontoe just as Keltag was, Keltag made it to the fourth round whereas Rohannit was unhorsed in the third. As such, Keltag finished second and was the defacto stand-in for our champion. I would point out that Irontoe unhorsed each of them by about the same margin, suggesting that Keltag is at least as skilled as Rohannith--and his performance is made all the more impressive in that he picked up a lance for the first time just before the Joust began.
Though I have established that my own opinions did not factor into the decision as to who would joust in Irontoe's stead, I must say that if they had it would have been a mark against Rohannith's claim to act as Irontoe's second. For Rohannith was only able to enter the lists by the gracious acceptance of his challenge by Glassclaw of Fordragon Imports, as Rohannith failed to respond to the call for jousters and write his name upon the list of combatants. From that point on, he conducted himself in a most uncouth way with boasts and haughty criticisms which did not stop even after he had been unhorsed. Had my own preferences had a hand in this matter, I certainly would not have been inclined to designate such a churlish braggart as the champion of our beloved Alliance.
Having addressed that bit of unpleasantry, I would like to commend the 8 racers, 20 duelists, and 25 jousters that gathered at the Tourney to unfurl the banners of their clans and engage in valiant trials of combat and skill. I look forward to future such events, the next of which will likely be the Midsummer Tourney!

Joringil let out a quiet sigh as she looked over the message, having trained somewhat extensively with the melee champion and knowing that very well could have been her championship. "I missed the game cause the war was on... bad scheduling..." She finished reading it over a second time, before shrugging and turning away, after all there were more important battles to train for anyway.
With a quiet grumble she removed her shield arm from the sling it rested in and stretched it slowly. The pain was still there but nothing unbearable, maybe she could find the champions and challenge them later after all...
