Arthas. Illidan. Sargeras.

Mention these names and you'll find a hundred heroes ready to claim the glory of defeating them. Men and demons of nightmare, these names represent a danger to all and everything...

But, what about your other nightmares?
The one's that hit closer to home?

What of the Orcs who raid farm and countryside? The Undead and their new plaque, the Blood Elves and their careless abuse of magic...what about all of your fellow “heroes” who stand by and watch as the Horde enters their main cities unchallenged? That pillage their outlying towns without recompense?

Of these constant nightmares, whom of these grand heroes claim the less brilliant heroism? The grueling, un-graceful fighting between the farms and streets of our homes and the homes of our families?

The Dusk Watch challenges these nightmares.

We claim the truer glories, we claim the gritty victories brushed off in favor of a shinier, more glory filled dream. We claim substance. The mug passed around between honest friends after a long, and satisfying engagement. The quiet triumphs. The farm saved so it can continue to feed our 'glorious' and far-off heroes. The comrades earned though countless battles. The bloody fights no one will write ballads of...

...the Stormwind raid laid to ash in the streets.

It begins in cities and towns, wherever the banners of the Alliance fly. Here the Dusk Watch seeks to challenge and end the Horde's freedom, to sow seeds of fright. To return the notion that the army to fear, isn't just the massive one. We seek also to protect the land, and the younger heroes who travel there...those that one day might end our generation's greatest evils. Hired for various jobs, where a territory under trouble requires the help of a quick force, the Dusk Watch will make themselves available to any traveler upon the land...and be paid, handsomely, for their time.

To this end, The Dusk Watch requires those of skill and heart, a worthy and tenacious force to answer and end the Horde's transgressions. It is not something ONE of us can do, though skilled and prepared we might be. We need teamwork, communication, dedication, trust...ferocity.

The Horde are NOT our friends.
We must shatter this pitiful dream. Drag it screaming out into the dusk of truth. We tolerate their existence until we gain sufficient power to obliterate them from the face of Azeroth, leaving nothing but old bones and the nightmares only children believe. They want to be legends? Let's make them so. Let future generations pick at their bones and imagine what hellish creatures such animals might have been.

We will meet them upon battlefields wherever they are formed; from the streets of our own cities to the plains and forests and mountains between them. We will fight any and all who seek to untie Horde and Alliance. Such weakness only dooms us all. “Peace” has gained us nothing but time, time the Horde has used to prepare and train for a final fight. We are fools not to do the same.

As King Varian Wrynn said so well, “ We have lost some of our greatest heroes to "peace." Let us see what battle brings...”

Dusk has fallen.
The selfish extremes of simple light and shadow have no more place in the world.

Let us remind the Horde they do not own the night.

The Dusk Watch also hosts a dueling tournament on the last Friday of every month at various locations around Azeroth. Participants must pay a 30 gold entry fee, and there is a gold prize for the first and second place winners.

The battles are fierce and heart pounding! Some, seem over before they have even begun, while others showcase combatants so evenly matched that the outcome is impossible to determine until the last blow is cast! Without a doubt, duelists and observers alike are guaranteed to learn something.

With a number of new, highly skilled and dedicated recruits, the militia of the Watch has come a long way. We were tested late last month by the death of our Commanding Officer, Kasparov Taar'un. In his place and memory, I have assumed command of the Watch. I write this now, a bit out of my element, but dedicated to the idea and the heart that will always be the foundation of The Dusk Watch.

That being said, the Watch has not let this tragedy hold us back.

We have been making forays into dangerous territory to better outfit our ranks under the skilled direction of the druid, Celustra. Forming then a new rank and arm of the Watch, the Watchers Ten will train and gather at least once a week to carry out it's purpose. Any questions about this arm may be directed to her, but any Officer of the Watch should be able to point a recruit in the right direction.

Alongside this hunt for weapon and armor, the Dusk Watch has been hindering the effort of Horde all across the Kingdoms. The Watch hit Brill last week, and the Crossroads the week before to test our members, and to learn how to fight alongside each other. Teamwork and skilled, well trained nerves have kept our smaller force alive and fighting against larger odds. I am very pleased to say that the Watch works well together, and to that end, we are looking for a few casters to round out our tight knit core. Officer positions will be offered to those who show dedication and skill to their craft, on and off the field of battle.

The Watch has also been offering it's assistance to other guilds and members of the Alliance. Joining in defense of major cities and territories as well as the farm and field, the Watch has proved the truth of it's foundation. We are setting up a message board for pleas and requests for assistance from the citizens as well as the military arms of the Alliance, so that those that walk the territories for whatever reason, may walk safe.

Keeping with our dedication to not ignore genuine pleas for help, the Watch brought it's blades to action when one of our members rescued a child from Defias slavery. Now informed of this heinous practice, the Dusk Watch pledges to locate and obliterate the Defias routes and camps through Southshore and nearby Alterac. The human child, having no known family to return to, is being kept in good care by the Watch, where we seek to turn his ill gotten skill with the blade to better use than thievery and murder.

Still recruiting Alliance members of all seasons, races and crafts, any citizen looking to protect their homelands from foreign and familiar threat should seek a clerk for paperwork, or look for any member of the Watch.

The Watch carried out their job in Hellfire Pennisula last night with a quick skill and earned laughter. Horde were put down, towers reclaimed, gnome's almost eaten, fellow Alliance rescued, and money made. While everyone dispersed to their collective tasks before the tavern was over taken, the Watch hung about to welcome back Araahaiel into our ranks. Though collectively it might never be uttered into hear-able air...she was missed.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/WoWScrnShot_071809_005704.jpg

It was genuinely hailed a good evening.

Word spreading, the Dusk Watch already has another job lined up for next week, as well as a sort of dueling ring in the works. Known as A.R.M.S. the Watch hopes that such a gathering will begin to prepare all who attend for the grueling back and forth nature of live combat...and maybe keep the members of the Alliance alive longer in their battles, wherever they may be. Also, since the Watch is involved, some lucky person will leave A.R.M.S. with much more gold on their person then when they arrived. Interested parties may contact me at any hour and keep an eye on tavern and bank wall for an official looking announcement.

At the last meeting of the Dusk Watch, our members have embraced some new changes. We spoke of the remains of a once promising Alliance Protectorate and resovled to rely on our own talented ranks and members. Southshore is no longer our home as our help has been requested in too many places for Hillsbrad to be a useful staging location. Another home for the growing Watch is being concidered carefully...where we might end up, could remain anyone's shadowed guess. The Dusk Watch has also entered more into the realm of Freelance Adventuring. While keeping a loose militia formation (mostly because the Stormwind Clerk wouldn't let me dissolve our charter...blasted human) the Watch takes on jobs from various sources, as well as responding to Horde attack and city defense. The Watch has also returned to the roots of it's formation, leaving the dungeons and relic retrieval to the personal time of our members. Hearts are lighter, pockets heavier...and generally it feels like the Watch finally has solid ground under it's feet.

Now Recruiting All levels 60+. Looking for Officers and players who want immersible RP and fun PVP without getting lost in a swell of numbers. The bulk of our members are usually on late at night. We accept new roleplayers as well as those that know what they're doing. Looking for people with ideas, who aren't afraid to weave as well as add.

Myroleplay (or something kin) is a must.
In-Game Contacts: Omy or Daigil
What we do and who we are (basically): World PVP, heavy RP. Events (Jobs). BG and Arena is a concideration. The Dusk Watch not only protects and seeks vengeance against the ganking Horde, but keeps an eye on Alliance guilds and groups that ally with the Horde. Familiar and foreign threats. A wary eye on DK's. Helping with quests and instances. A member must be aware of the players around him or her, not just those wearing our colors.

What was supposed to be a swift meeting of the Dusk Watch soon became a tangled afair. Spies, old shadows, and business offers peppered the otherwise quiet evening. The Watch still managed it's business amidst the exciting events, promoting Zohara to Vanguard and Trigin to a fullfledged member of the Watch. Both well deserved, both well earned honors. Trigin Steelblade, new Armsman of the Watch, was denied his pomp and circumstance due to the quick reloacation of the meeting, but I promise him his words at a later date.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/Spies-2.jpg

The Watch looks forward to the rest of our recruits earning the honor of a Watch insignia. On this note, I am very...very proud of what rather interesting and well fought characters the Watch has recruited thus far...I mean, soap making? Really?

Also, the third and final original founding member of the Dusk Watch returned from the frozen wastes. Otton Tiller once again walks the streets of Stormwind under our colors. We're happy to have him back, even if he was subjected to a handful of duels and the return of old enemies soon after.

As to business, the Watch has been keeping at it's work, from the broken woods of the Eastern Plaguelands to nearly leveling Grom'Gol in Stranglethorn Vale, members of the Watch are putting their new numbers to the test.

Patrols on Saturday were pretty quiet, the late night roads walked by the Dusk Watch lead to easy pay; a good night for our two new, promising recruits. A few Horde were met and delt with swiftly by small pockets of the Watch in Redridge and Duskwood. Back home in Stormwind, members of the Watch assisted in locating and dropping a lone druid that had snuck into the Cathedral.

Promotions were awarded last week, and the Watch welcomes Trigin Steelblade into his Second Officer rank even as Father Priscus steps out from Watch business to attend to some personal matters. Any questions or such regarding the Watch can now be directed to Trigin, as well.

Next week the Watch is hosting A.R.M.S, a gathering of duelists and soldiers who wish to better their skills. However, seeing as that I have yet to receive a single deposit from the many that have signed up, it looks as if the cash prize might fall through. Duel's will still be held, regardless, and interested parties may find me via a member of the Watch at any hour.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/duels-1-1.jpg

The Watch's own duels between members will be coming up again this week, as well as gatherings to join the ongoing war efforts of the Alliance. The Steam Tonk derby will be kicking off, fishing trips will still be provided for all your relaxation and drinking needs, and late night Patrols will continue.

As always, the Watch is looking for members of heart and courage to fight not the flashy battles of the War, but the needed and oft overlooked ones. For every patrol that doesn't end in bloodshed, there are the nights when even a single blade upon the road will save an Alliance life.

A.R.M.S Results

August's bouts were held in Feralas, from the breathtaking view atop the Eastern sibling of the Twin Colossals. With a healthy turnout for the first event, the battles were rewarding and fierce to say the least. The clashing of two talented Death Knight's nearly shook the very ground of the ancient mountain, while other, softer, battles seemed to involve only one combatant and a darting shadow. Flashing steel and excited cheers broke the sunspotted air, while the rest of the combatants watched and prepared for their own bouts.

Rising to the top was a newcommer to the Watch, the Death Knight Catilyn, who also walked away from the event with a purse of gold and a handcrafted Champion's Medal. Also a new recruit, the Druid Amallah came in close second. With over 14 attending (and only one mishap involving a faulty parachute), the Watch hopes it's next event will gather even more of the Alliance to test their mettle and to defeat the reigning Champion of A.R.M.S.

September's match will be held on the 25th, and it's location will be revealed closer to the event. Parties interested in attending the next A.R.M.S can speak to an officer of the Watch for information or catch the latest issue of the Twisting Nether Gazette. Sign up for September starts this Friday; send a letter with your name, school of art / specialization, and season to Omy to reserve your spot.

The Watch gathered in Moonglade a few nights ago, joining others in witnessing the union of Sivat and Amallah. Ranaynne presided over the service, which ended in quite the shindig in Darnassus afterwards. The two haven't been seen since their joyous night fell to a close...

All in all the night was a much needed break from the battle hardened week and served to remind many why and what they fought for in the first place. There were a few tears, a large number of fireworks, and many good wishes and hopes passed along into the newlywed's ears. The Dusk Watch wishes only the continued best for them and their unborn child. With new ties being made, our efforts have been renewed in keeping our lives and our homes protected.

Trigin and Cytania announced that they too will be happily wed sometime in November. With Brewfest around the corner, a good number of ales and beers will surely be..stocked for such an occassion.

==~==

The Dusk Watch aided towns and battles all over Azeroth this week. While not all were crushing victories, the Watch saved many citizens and aided their fellow Alliance against larger, well organized forces. The Watch also worked along side the Fabled Order this week, after Cavanaugh and a small force of their Knights assisted the Watch in protecting Southshore against the Raven Cross.

Reminded of the need to train, and with A.R.M.S (http://theduskwatch.wowstead.com/forums/thread/154) comming up, the Watch is dividing it's growing numbers into smaller, organized Divisions with specific patrols and missions. Some, like the Skyguard (http://theduskwatch.wowstead.com/forums/thread/201) lead by Anechka, will patrol the skies of the Outlands, while others will focus on various cities and the surrounding areas. Captains are being selected as the ranks of the Watch swell with eager recruits. Many new members were awarded the full honor of being an Armsman or Seer of the Watch during the meeting Friday night, their days of being a recruit since passed. A smaller few were bestowed with Veteran status among their fellow Watch, the title of Legionaire awarded to their names.

To help with the growing stack of applications the Commander almost lost among the chaos of her desk, the newly married Sivat will be keeping tabs on the paper trail, questions regarding the status of your application can now also be directed her way. Recruitment Officers have also been named and placed on duty; Ranaynne, Trigin, Sivat, Zohara, Amallah, Lurile, Anechka and Caitlyn can now interview and review applicants.

As always, the Dusk Watch is recruiting Alliance members of all seasons, races and crafts. Any citizen looking to protect their homelands from foreign and familiar threat should seek a clerk for paperwork, or look for a Recruitment Officer of the Watch.

September's gathering of A.R.M.S (http://theduskwatch.wowstead.com/forums/thread/154) was held in the bowl of the Dire Maul arena on Friday night. From the onset of dusk fall into the late evening battles raged across the twisted stones, the echoing clash of metals drowned out only by the thundering of magic. Members of the Stormwind Royal Cavalry brought their skills to the bouts as well, the final match falling between Codei of the SWRC, and A.R.M.S defending champion Catilyn, of the Dusk Watch. Boisterous cheering was balanced by collective observation as the fights came and went, Medics of the Watch seeing to the wounded and downed between each match. Victorious yet again, Catilyn left with her title intact, and yet another, larger, purse of gold.

Sadly, not all of the SWRC could remain for the picture at the end of the night, but a list of the bouts and their winners is said to be tacked up on the message board outside of the Blue Recluse in Stormwind.

The next A.R.M.S will be held Friday October 30th, at a date and time known closer to the event. It was quite a week for the Dusk Watch.

First, Lady Ranaynne fell sick, then her companion Necroxis. Her time tending to the orphans in Stormwind caused her to become ill with what was first thought to be a simple flu...then, as the little girl whom Rana had been seeing fell into a coma, the Watch was driven into a well oiled mission to save not only the girl, but their companions as well. Over the course of the week, the paladin grew worse and worse as the Watch sought to discover what strange poison was feeding off the light in her and the girl, Emma. Finally, there was break through... Emma's family had been driven from their homes and killed by members of the Forsaken...an odd illness claiming those who had escaped. Only Emma's sister, slight years older than the smaller girl, had been immune to the poison clouds that swept their village...and she had been taken by the Forsaken...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/th_Ivan.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/?action=view&current=Ivan.jpg) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/th_RR2.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/?action=view&current=RR2.jpg) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/th_RRHann.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/?action=view&current=RRHann.jpg)

Determined to save those lives at stake, the Watch gathered and sought out Emma's sister, tracking her from Silvermoon to Northrend where the Watch discovered a sinister lab under the ice and snow. One of the forsaken scientists there was made to speak: the girl was being held in Venomspite among members of the Apothecary Society. They were trying to discover why the girl was rendered immune to their poison...and correct it. With their companion's heath swiftly deteriorating, the Watch stormed Venomspite to rescue the girl and destroy what traces of the vile poison they could find. Cutting through the guards as well as Horde adventures that sought to protect the place, the Watch found and freed the girl, escorting her back through scourge infested battleground to the nearby keep.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/rpsho.jpg?t=1255507241

Worn down, abused, and starved the little girl was overwhelmed with attention from the Watch who protected her through the hellish night. When finally reunited with her little sister, the Watch used the sample of Forsaken Poison they took from Venomspite to make a cure that was given to Emma as well as the two members of the Watch that had fallen ill. Happily they are all recovering well, Rana and Nexy are back to active service, and Emma is reunited with the only surviving memory of her family.

((OOC: Because, this is just really awesome! Rana was kind enough to make a level four character for this, lock summon her out to a safe point inside of Venomspite with Ivan's help, and the Watch fought our way into and out of the Horde town trying to keep a level four alive...in Northrend! She died about...oh, four or five times on the way there ^^;; but it was a fun challenge to run her through all those geists. Rana was brilliant in her organizing and the idea was spawned with the help of others of the Watch...all in all the RP event lasted over a week, mostly in Redridge where she was sick, and drew many members of the Watch and others together for some amazing RP. Well done all! I know the Watch will continue to brainstorm and hold events of this caliber in the future!))

The middle of the week saw the Watch attending a war meeting headed by Noxtrael of the Fabled Order. Attended by other allied guilds and organizations, the Watch participated in a heartfelt attempt to bind together and plan against an overwhelming force aimed for their homes. After mentioning the open-aired location, concrete plans were kept to secret talks where spies couldn't overhear. After the meeting, the streets of Old Town collected many of the attendees, each voicing their thoughts and concerns about the coming battle.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/warmeeting.jpg?t=1255507346

The Dusk Watch responded to Horde scouting parties many nights during the week, one a party of three in Raven Cross tabards that eventually retreated to the Waters of the Harbor and vanished down the coast.

October's Meeting of the Dusk Watch saw many more recruits becoming full members, and the structure of the Watch solidified with the promotion of talented Captains. Falling on the night before rumored war, the Watch bolstered their spirits as best they could. The 4th Division, or House Phoenix (http://theduskwatch.wowstead.com/forums/thread/288), was given to Captain Ranaynne as well as the 8th Division (http://theduskwatch.wowstead.com/forums/thread/267) passed into the confident hands of Captain Catilyn. The 10th division (http://theduskwatch.wowstead.com/forums/thread/257) is now under Captain Aurara; all to join Captain Anechka and her Skyguard (http://theduskwatch.wowstead.com/forums/thread/201). Other division charters are being drawn up and will be completed within the week.

While the war on Sunday did not go well for the Alliance, the Dusk Watch did what their numbers could on offense and on defense...making sure that others escaped during the retreat, and that the citizen's of Stormwind avoided the coming bloodshed. The Watch regathered for a final stand in the Exodar against heavy odds alongside their allies...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/exodar.jpg?t=1255507765

Deep seeded wounds in mind as even the streets recover from the thunder of war, the Dusk Watch has embarked on a needed re-dedication to training and gear, many members stepping into the Arena's to hone their skills and compete against others. The weekend's near failure to defend cities against such a large force, has rekindled fires that had been in danger of falling silent.

With new, highly skilled members still entering the ranks, the Watch has been gathering allies from all arms of the Alliance. The militia is growing still, and learning quickly from their engagements. Never one to stay down when beaten, or give up simply because the numbers are uneven, the Watch will continue to strive to protect civilians, families and homes regardless of race or skill....even in the face of what some fear to be deadly odds.

October's A.R.M.S met in Stormwind before making it's way to the beaten floor of the Ring of Trials in Nagrand. Spectators and participants alike gathered high above on the massive bleachers to watch the skillful fights below. Pillars splinted from deflected spells as dust and stone flew among the cheers and good natured yelling of the crowd. The air hummed as dusk started to settle...

...a lone troll wandered into the arena. Hovering above on his dragon, the focused duelists below oblivious to his presence, the members of the crowd watched with worried eyes. After a few, tense minutes with no sign of hostility, the night's event continued if not with a cautious air...

Sad or inevitable, it wasn't long before the Horde descended upon the arena and the spectators, striking at those unadorned in armor first. Fighting back, the Alliance members held their ground long enough to summon a portal to Dalaran, unwilling to ruin the aim of the night getting bogged down in relentless battle. Calling in a few favors, the Commander of the Dusk Watch secured for them the smaller, but more oft used ring outside of Ravenholdt manner. There, the matches continued into the night, broken only as those members who had finished their duels occasionally left to answer the far off bells of Southshore.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/OCTARMSjpg.jpg?t=1257214146

Interesting enough, before the event was temporarily halted in Outlands, A.R.M.S saw it's first match to be called off as a draw. Krystiana of the Stormwind Royal Cavalry and Maurkaka of Invictus Sanctum fought an evenly match duel that had no sign of an end in sight. Both being gifted healers, each blow stuck was quickly healed...which lead to even the duelists pausing to consider the merit of their random pairing upon the arena floor. Eventually the battle was brought to a close and the combatants were paired off with others in order to keep the event moving forward.

At the end of the night, newcomer to the event Teleara fought against the heavy armored champion of three months running, Caitlyn. Though the rogue's blades found mark after mark, the death knight rose again to the top. Both collected their winnings before the crowd dispersed for the night, as the Champion's proud but bemused Commander remarked off-handedly that they might have to keep the woman from competing next month. Regardless, the Death Knight's winning streak and status as the first champion of A.R.M.S has set the bar for future duelists aiming to claim the title.

The turn out was quite a joy for the Commander of the Watch, the frustration at setting up such an event eased by the number and skill of the people who participated. A hearty thanks go out to all those that showed up, or even just watched.

Those wishing not to fight, but still want to attend can sign up for healing tasks, as well as simple observation.

(( A.R.M.S ladder -- Results (http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd266/Broomkin/ARMS-30thOctober2009-COMPLETED.jpg) -- We had a grand total of 29 people at the event - 11 Spectator's and 18 Contestants. The total money pool collected from the contestants was a sum of 360g. Also: "Daigil & Blazerr also sparred together - Blazerr won, but he withdrew before he could carry out his next match, so I decided not to record it on the chart, since it would have looked all lopsided and wierd." -Catilyn ))

So far the week leading into the New Year has been good to the Watch.

The rafters of the Blue Recluse were nearly filled to the brim with patrons Monday night, as the Watch relaxed and enjoyed the rewards of their success. Invictus Sanctum joined the Watch for drinks, as well as a few other heads that were popped in on the merrymaking. Some, attracted by the undead corpse of a rogue slumped against the bookshelf inside, only stuck around to see what the noise was about, other stayed awhile and shared in the heartfelt celebration.

A few times that night, the bells of Stormwind sounded, and the tavern pretty much emptied in pursuit of them. Aside from the Rogue that tried to prey on the drunken minds inside (and learned that several members of the Watch, might actually fight BETTER intoxicated), the night when smoothly. Eventually the bells called too many away and the night grew, various patrons returning to their walks of life.

Last night the Watch convened for another sort of recreation, training. The Watch's Rooftop Duels have attracted curious passersby and combatant alike in the past, and tonight was no different. Joringil and Elmdore of the Sword of the Morning showed to flex and get back into practice, even with a thick rain drumming down on the town. Joringil along with Dol's sister, Yvayne, dominated most of the night until the structured one on one fights spilled over into the field behind the house. The Commander and Harbinger of the Dusk Watch continued a rivalry as old as their friendship while the other members spared against each other late into the night. House Phoenix (http://theduskwatch.wowstead.com/forums/thread/288) was on hand to keep the occasional blow struck in earnest from going out of hand, as well as seeing to the health and general standing of the participants. Heiler, one of the Fourth Division's finest, even stepped up to fight before succumbing to his dwarven heritage and emptying one of the kegs on site left over from Brewfest.

The Rooftop Duels almost had it's first serious injury last night, as Kennith of the Watch ended his duel with Joringil by going over the side of the roof. A shattering throw to the chest pushed the man off balance enough (though, it could be said his drinking was also culprit) for the short trip to the ground to knock him out for a few moments. Concerned, participants clustered on the roof above as his Commander and Captain Araahiel brought him around, his thick skull saving him from any serious danger.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/RTD123009_6.jpg?t=1262286762

Lord Commander Joringil's 'reign of terror' was surprisingly halted for a moment. Darrul, a rogue of the Dusk Watch, defeated her in a duel on level ground later on as the night was drawing to a close. All in all, a great time was had, and the backs and arms of the Watch and comrades were strengthened by the sparring.

Wound up, the Watch made a quick foray into Orgrimmar to disrupt trade and business, bringing Joringil, Elmdore, Emmet, Domini, and Krystiana with them. The twelve of them (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/WoWScrnShot_123109_021749.jpg?t=1262286945) met quite a larger number of angry horde than they had expected. (Possibly due to the Holiday season?) Regardless of being taken aback, they struck quick at their targets and holed up at the topmost level of one of the buildings, setting off a furious series of fights as the horde defenders funneled up into the top ring of the spiral.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/WoWScrnShot_123109_022540.jpg?t=1262286785

Joringil and Elmdore, whether by accident or design, found themselves on the bottom floor of the building, fighting waves of Horde while resisting furious attempts to drag them out of the building. Their dedicated Healers above suffered near heart attacks as they scrambled to see them among the press of bodies and the explosion of spells. There were rumors of the sort of laughter only warriors in the midst of their element can produce rising above the howls of rage from the ground floor. Warvok of the Watch assisted in his first shindig, jagged bolts of lightning burning scars into the thick walls as his spells lunged for his enemies. Emmet held his ground at the top of the spiral, catching any Horde seeking the softer cloth with smashing blows from his blade, knocking more than an unlucky few back into the fray below.

House Phoenix (http://theduskwatch.wowstead.com/forums/thread/288) was at their best, Captain Ranyanne organizing her Battle Medics to quick work in keeping their companions alive in the heat of battle. Krystiana of the Stormwind Royal Calvary was a boon as always, in the thick of the action and keeping many on their feet beyond expectations. Domni joined the Watch as well for the dangerous mission, the priest's skill directed more often to those on the top spiral in the furious criss crossing of heals. Otton Tiller stood firm up top alongside the healers, grabbing Horde that sought to disrupt their concentration and making them contend with his deadly attention instead.

Together, with Neider's quick eye and knowledge of the area, and Daigil's timely stuns keeping escaping horde trapped within the sight of his companions, the group held more than their own before being overwhelmed by sheer numbers. Taking quickly to the rooftops, the Watch rode out of the city gates, Horde tight on their heals, and barely made it out into the wilderness.

Hitting the Crossroads a solid blow to further disrupt trade and travel for the night, the Allies rode to Ashenvale before going their separate ways for the evening. No life threatening injuries were sustained, though each promised to see to their wounds over the next few days.

There's a few like notices spread around the Alliance cities, usually at an Inn or tavern. All, handwritten, though a few seem more hurried than others, like they were the last one's of the bunch.

High above the crushing waters of the Falls of Ymiron, February's gathering of A.R.M.S breathed deep of the crisp Howling Fjord air. From the high, ornate vantage point of Utgarde Keep, duelists had to contend with the pillars of the ring, as well as the height. Non-combatants crowded on the mouth of the bridge, a half circle of attentive and cheering onlookers. One fight's nail biting conclusion even drew a pleased and giddy giggle from the Scarlet, Father Wolfley. A few late entries, as well as one, surprising withdrawal added a measure of excited uncertainty to the evening.

Many of the matches were close, onlookers craning their necks to catch each important, and possibly final blow. First timers to A.R.M.S, the Horde Resettlement Agency, fought well, bringing a fair number of their agents to the tournament. Their leader, the gnome Griff Wobblebonk, fought his way to second place just ahead of the Dusk Watch's own Captain Amallah Nightwalker. Topping the list was a mysterious gnome death knight who went only by Tyrano.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/taylorelf/Wow/ARMS_25th_February_2010_FINAL.jpg?t=1268174682

Attendance was good with twenty six registered in attendance to the event, and others who had gathered after the initial summons had gone out. Joining the Dusk Watch were members of the HRA, Invicitus Sanctum, Sword of the Morning, Eternity's End and the Stormwind Royal Calvary. There was one, lonesome horde that flew too close to the event, and abruptly met the cold rock of the Keep far below.

Otherwise the night went well, the fights impressive, and the company friendly. Even the few Scarlet's in attendance seemed to enjoy their ability to fight the warlocks and death knights who also competed, keeping their blows and spells ferocious, but refraining from landing anything deadly.

Of note, the match between Emyi of the HRA and Ivan of the Dusk Watch, was arguably one of the most exciting of the night. The gnome warrior and human warlock went toe-to-toe as it where for quite a while, though the warlock did a remarkable job of keeping away from the woman's fierce blade. Her ability to reflect a good number of his spells almost won her the match, but in the third and final bout that ended their tie, Ivan's mastery of his spells won out.

The next A.R.M.S tournament is set for Friday March 26th at 9:30 in the evening. Those interested in attending should start early! Send your twenty gold entry fee to the Commander of the Watch by way of goblin mail to reserve your spot to fight!

"Dead Horde Blitz" by Thistlefae/Silivrenniel

An exmaple of why The Dusk Watch is just so frickin' awesome...
Much thanks to Sil! =D

http://www.mediafire.com/?zdzmymjddyd <--for the recording!

Lyrics to "Dead Horde Blitz"

Are you ready Dan? Uh huh...
Omy? Yeah...
Cat? Okay...

All right fellas, let's GOOO

Well, let me get my daggers
Let me add some poisons to the blade
The mage, he is a comin'
The priest will bless you in some painful ways

OH, I see a dru in the back
As a matter of fact and her eyes are as green as the fel
And the gnome on the mammoth let no one ignore him
'Cause he thinks he's the baddest to tell

Oh yeah, it was like failsauce, everybody just laughed 'cause
All the Hordies were trembling, and they all started whimpering

YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH

And the rogue in the back said "Everyone attack!" and it turned into a dead Horde blitz
And the gnome in the corner said, "Orc I'd better warn ya, it'll turn into a dead Horde blitz"
Dead horde blitz x 4

*Musical Interlude*

We're hunting down each red blood
Killin' every single one we see
The banner of the Dusk Watch
It tells you that your Hordie's gonna bleed

And the dru in the back is ready to smack
Every hordie that falls in her path
And the gnome's off the mammoth, he's ready to kill
There's no warning for this guy's epic wrath

Oh yeah, it was distasteful, how the horde failed at graceful
And they all started grieving, over dead we were reaping

YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH

And the rogue in the back said "Everyone attack!" and it turned into a dead horde blitz
And the gnome in the corner said "Orc I better warn ya, it'll turn into a dead Horde blitz"
Dead horde blitz...

Novembers ARMS was held on the dry, sun cracked surface of the Mirage Raceway. With a small but talented turn out the event itself lasted about two hours all told...but the dueling continued far into the rest of the evening. In fact, the last round of fighting ended after two fights lasting over eight minutes, with onlookers having to get up for more beer! Quite a few trickled in from the far reaches of Azeroth as the night went on to watch the duelists, the quaking of the earth and the elementals forgotten for one night of good company and great entertainment.

Here are the round and final results of the evening. Thanks go out to everyone that participated! It was a fantastic night, and I look forward to the new venues that will be presented to us in the coming months!

First Place (700 gold): Caitlyn

Second Place (400 gold): Urival

Round one:

Catilyn (II) vs Ame
Illthion (II) vs Araah

Round Two:

*A single piece of parchment has been replaced over The Dusk Watch's current recruitment board in Stormwind. The handwriting, while elegant, is hurried*

With Omy missing in action, the remaining Leadership of the Watch agreed that another Rogue would be needed for the position of Commander. Thus, Sprung has been promoted to acting Commander of the Dusk Watch until a time comes when Omy can be either confirmed dead or returns. Alongside Omy, Spymaster Daigil has gone missing, with the assumption that whatever has befallen one has also the other. Catilyn Llandor has taken up the interim position of Spymaster until Daigil can be either confirmed dead or returns.

The current Captains Ivan Zephyr, Father Wolfley, and Uuillium remain in their positions. With the Gnome Warlock Trini's reemergence into Azeroth, she has been promoted back to her position of Lieutenant.

The Dusk Watch is anything but fallen, and we are still looking for new recruits. Submit your applications to be reviewed by the Leadership at the nearest Dusk Watch recruitment station. (www.theduskwatch.com)

well....sort of!

The watch is not only an amazing PvP guild, but we're making some progress in raids, not bad for our gear being fully ruthless! To those of us who play PvE before the seasons end congratulations!

The Dusk Watch cleared the Temple of the Four Winds twice, downed BoT and headed to Black Wing Lair, Soon the reigns of the Dark phoenix will be ours! Even the firelands is starting to become fair game, nerfs or not we're still excited! After all we got to get our resident feral druid her flame staff ( go go Tygr )

Our members still PvP, strive to be active, friendly and IC in game and look forward to the next PvP season! It's coming sooner than we think.

Who says PvPers can't kill dragons!

While we are always looking for new faces of every class to join our ranks, we're reaching out for a few in particular at the moment: Ranged DPS and Healers. If you fit into one of these two categories and fancy some RP/PvP, we'd love to hear from you!

You can find out more about us by visiting our website, http://www.theduskwatch.com, and please don't hesitate to contact one of our officers in game!
