TNG Wiki Updates!

The Wiki is a great place to put backstories and flesh out various aspects of your RP.

There is a link at the top of the forums, but unless you click on that and then on "Recent Updates" there really isn't an easy way to see if people have added something new, so, here's a thread!


If you add/update the wiki, post a link to your changes in this thread, so people who sit mostly on the forums know to go check it out. It would be nice to see it used more often!

I'm still totally new to using the wiki, so I don't understand a lot about it, yet -- but I made a little section for dej Dynastus (http://wiki.wow-tng.org/index.php/Dej_Dynastus)!

Everyone else, post your updates here! Even if they're just about your character. It'll keep the Wiki going strong!

The Wiki site is GREAT. I enjoy reading about the TN characters, families, guilds, etc. a ton and wish that everyone got around to using it. I'm tempted to transfer all of the forum bio's to Wiki (:D), but I'm sure that would be annoying for some people. Anyway, I hope more do use the wiki.

I've been playing with the wiki myself for Leeleeï (http://wiki.wow-tng.org/index.php/Leelee%C3%AF_Lightsong) and the House of Lightsong (http://wiki.wow-tng.org/index.php/House_of_Lightsong). I'm still in the process of updating it after reviewing everyone's biographies here to make sure I'm not stepping on anyone's toes and/or if I should be connected, etc.

Side Note: Some links that have helped me creating wiki pages :
-Basic formatting help can be found at the Wiki Site, How to Edit Article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_edit).

-Families, Houses, Clans, etc. can create simple/slightly generic crests both on makeyourcoatofarms.com (http://www.makeyourcoatofarms.com/) and the http://warcraft.swagdog.com/ (I know, it's for guilds/single players, but it works).

First time using this as well....added a Dusk Watch page (http://wiki.wow-tng.org/index.php/The_Dusk_Watch), something about Falconhurst (http://wiki.wow-tng.org/index.php/Falconhurst), and stuck Omy's profile (http://wiki.wow-tng.org/index.php/Omy) on there...

..quite a lot of fun. I will have to continue adding things. ^^

I am contemplating closing the wiki down. To my knowledge, the only *active* page is the Dusk Watch's. I love them dearly, but the wiki's been being hit hard by spambots lately, and I just spent a good 15-20 mins reverting and deleting spam.

Previously I'd get a spambot maybe one every couple of weeks, but they've been hitting it daily for the last two weeks or so. It probably doesn't help that I didn't create a direct link to it in the new TNG's menu.

Would anyone be too upset if I closed it down? I can probably work something out with the Dusk Watch to host their info in a different manner.

There was some work put into it, but I don't think it would be missed poorly, and it disappear with TNG v2. It didn't get much traffic from us and was sort of a foot note that wasn't crucial to the site. While some time was put into it, a simple google archive of the whole thing will probably suffice.

I tried to update it today, and the upgrade failed. I will see if I can fix it, but it may be lost.
