[LFRP] Death Knight RP network -

Maybe old news --not sure -- but is there interest in forming a DK RP network? Not trying to form a guild of DKs, but maybe form a DK only faction of players/toons of like mind who will gather and roleplay on a weekly to bi weekly basis. Maybe have a DK chatroom.

My own thoughts on its focus.

The DKs involved would still be serving the scourge and Arthas in his plan to destroy all life.

This idea can be taken in a different direction if interest shifts the paradigm.

Is there any interest? Has it been tried before?

I am curious...my RP with my DK stalled when I realized her character was pretty much unplayable. Not so sure about the whole still serving Arthas and the scourge tho...

Thats just my take. Again with enough interest we could develop a joint backstory everyone is comfortable with. I am flexible.

What is it that bothers you with serving the scourge though?

We could divorce the DK roleplay from our ingame actions. So one can go raid and slay Arthas' minions and do as he or she wishes but on "DK day" one would assume the role of a scourge member hellbent of suffocating all life from the planet.

As I stated before, I am flexible and this is just a strong suggestion and a must be.

My only issue with a Scourge based network (or any evil based network) is that there is nothing in-game that would allow support of this. We can't be attacked by our factions, we can go into towns which are fighting war with the Scourge; there is too large a disconnect. I hope you find a way to do it that works for you and your members though. xD

Exactly this. I would love to roleplay Scourge if only the game supported it in any way. As it is, it comes off as godmodding because no one can kill you.

Unless Horde 'Scourge' raids Alliance... But no one would understand that.


I personally would prefer this to be done as a player-continuation of the Ebon Blade-- Something that you don't just do quests for quest givers who you recognize, but they treat you like dirt, or go to every level or so for training. Something more... Involved about being a Deathknight of the Ebon Blade.

Well it seems and rightly so that scourge baded roleplay while not impossible is just counter intuitive to the plenum the game offers. As was mentioned too many disconnects. That does not help the suspension of disbelief.

So a big nod though I love the whole I will eat your soul thing.

So on the table is a Rp idea about defining and deepening game content based upon the question What does it mean to be a member of the Ebon Blade?

Maybe we should begin by defining the organization and its sctructures.

Side Note - Why are there new non scourge death knights? Who is making them? Why are they making them? It can not be Arthas. If the only DKs around are the leftovers from Arthas' battle with Tirion and crew would this prohibit allowing new DKs to enter? No clue. Need help with this

New Death Knights could be trained by the Ebon Blade. While they do not hold the resources of the Scourge, the trainers from Scourge-held Acherus still broke free of Arthas' control with the battle of Light's Hope. Necromancy isn't necessarily an evil thing, and the Ebon Blade could practice this with either requested by family corpses to become Death Knights, or just taking the corpses of those who requested from the Ebon Blade to become Death Knights. Various ways, including taking those from rogue factions that have no Alliance/Horde ties and becoming Deathknights.


As it could probably be noted, Blackrazor, I love this idea of yours, and would gladly help with it when I get back into WoW.

What does it mean to be a member of the Ebon Blade?

I think a better term is 'Knight', not member.

As it seems through in game lore, they are a mirror-faction of the Silver Hand. Their sole purpose is the destruction of the Lich King, and the annihilation of the Scourge. Even after Scourge control, survival of the fittest is still an everyday thought. "Will I die for being too weak today?" Seems an appropriate everyday thought for a Knight of the Ebon Blade(Sounds cheesy, hehe).

After they slay the Lich King, they will have no purpose left in life. They will lead a sad, lonely life in which they cannot truly love someone, because they will outlive them, or die before them. Death Knights live for honing their combat skills, becoming better and better until they are undefeatable. They live for combat. Once all of the evil they have to deal with is defeated, they will more than likely go to war against the Horde and Alliance due to a stupid decision because they cannot survive without battle. That is how I read it, anyways.

Organization... Highlord on top(Obviously not player accesible), High-Champion, Champion, Knight... Other such medieval titles for knights. Page, initiate, etc.. I'm not good at the order thingy. I can create a few cool sounding names for them if you need it.

All help is appreciated and thank Psy for your interest. As you know this idea is simply that - an idea. If a community of death knights can forge a common backstory we can us it as a springboard for weekly roleplay sessions as we try to advance a story line.

If you are a DK, have a DK alt, want to play a DK, want to RP a story that involves DKs then helping create this community could be an answer.

At this juncture more ineterst is needed to make it viable.

This is not a guild. There is simply a community of like minded folks getting together for some RP on their DKs.
