I'm fairly new around here. I mean, I've had an account for a while, and I've been on Twisting Nether for about 3 1/2 years. Still, haven't looked around.

Anyhow, I was curious if there was ever any public roleplay that went on anymore? I realize that there is roleplay within guilds, but I don't want to have to join a guild to enjoy this.

I remember a long while back when there was a weekly RP event in the Park. Due to horrible schedules, I never really got to enjoy it. But I do know that there are fair amounts of roleplayers around Twisting Nether.

If anyone has any information or ideas, I'd love to hear them.

I do spontaneous public RP all the time, but you're alliance, so that wouldn't end up making much sense...

After Imports get done killing Horde, we take any pugs who want to come back to a tavern. Non-RPers get an introduction to RP, and old hands have some good clean nonviolent fun. Our favorite spot so far is the Beer Garden in Dalaran, where we went after we won Cristok's Challenge.

Well, that's interesting! Yeah, your guild caught my eye, but I'm devoted to the Rooks. I'd love to be an ally of the guild (I'd imagine a pirate would fit fairly well), but just for smaller, public events. I can't expect all sorts of awesomeness without being a member.

What I'm saying is, if anything goes down that I could participate in, give me a shout. Mind that I'm still 75 because I stopped levelling to fish. I also do not intend to continue levelling until I'm Salty, and I'm lacking The Coin Master and The One That Didn't Get Away. Anyhow...!

My level 5 priest goes to the trade district once or twice a day and demands for a crusade against the undead, you might see him some day.

Grehan, keep an eye out for Aleria of Eternity's End (she has a funny I in her name). She and guild run a weekly roving tavern event. (posted somewhere around here, but I'm lazy tonight) It's the only regular event I'm aware of.

I'm also always up for random public RP. Too often, I'm just in-game for scheduled events but I do try to slow down when I'm in town.

Yeah, Aleria (I think it's the last a that's funny, and not the i) hosts her wandering tavern every Sunday at 7:00PM server I do believe. I also don't know of any other regular RP events either. Ally or Horde.

But iffen you're looking for RP I'm around sometimes wandering about Dalaran on Ryoku who ah.. Well s/he's a character..

Hi there! I thought I'd seen you around!

Dunamis is based out of Ironforge, but we go all over the place. We do love our RP, so if you see any of us around, just ask!

My alt-to-be-main Ezekias is an avid fisherman; if you see me running him around, just mention fish, and he'll be all over talking about it.

I stay In-Character with Ignas at all times for /say , /yell , and /tell (depending on the circumstances). All Fabled Order members should follow the same rules. If you happen to see any members not doing so, well, just let me know and I'll take care of them. They may end up missing for a few days, but it will be taken care of.

And, just like every other person that's posted so far, just hit Iggy up with some RP and it'll happen.

The time has changed to 8:00pm. Given that Arizona does not observe Daylight Savings Time.

And yes... the "a" at the end of my name is messed up... as a result of last year's transfer.

Now, is there any way to clearly tell if someone is an RPer? I don't usually keep up with RP addons, but if that's the case, I'd gladly do so. I've no clue if there is a standard for TN roleplayers, nor where to find it on this site. Info, or a quick link, would be appreciated.

Though, it's refreshing to hear of some TN RP. I've resorted to making a 62 DK mirror image of Grehan (at least in his roleplay suit - mechanostrider and all) on Moon Guard for RP. The idea is that a transporter malfuction copied Grehan, the new one got sent to another dimension, and then got scourgified. It's more detailed than that, though.

Anyhow, thanks for the information! Any more is welcome, but I appreciate it! See you server-side!

MyRolePlay and FlagRSP2 from Curse.com are great mods to tell if someone RP's.
When you highlight over them it give their status, history, if he/shes currently OOC or IC, etc
I am sure there are plenty other ways to tell, but thats a sure shot.

If you're in and around Dalaran, or occasionally stormwind, I'm NEARLY always in character on all my girls (Lisbet, Alishondra - she probably wont respond right now, because technically she's in a Coma, buuut I wanna get her to 80 before I progress her current storyline any farther....so yea ;p, Maegannon, and Katrra.). As poor Sifar found out on HER priest, we like to "Tavern" Rp. Drinks + rp = win.

I'll need to linger there more often, Lisbet!

I tend to "pace" while looking for random RP. I walk in circles around Dalaran looking for familiar names or snatches of conversation. If I find someone, I see if there is a way to get involved without feeling too intrusive. On the flip side, I'm horrible about saying "hey come rp with me" since I don't have any specific plot or event to get folks involved in.

However... *looks around and speaks quietly* if you don't mind ending up in the gossip papers, then we should talk.

Now, is there any way to clearly tell if someone is an RPer?

There are a few ways you can know whether someone is a roleplayer, without having to see an addon.

One is if they walk rather than run. Not everyone who walks is a roleplayer, and not everyone who roleplays walks. (On another server, I used Ezekias' youth and enthusiasm as an excuse for his running a lot.)

Another is if they're wearing gear that looks really nice together but doesn't belong to a matching set, or is severely underleveled and wrong-statted for them. Again, it's not 100%, but if you see an 80 paladin wearing a Blue Linen Robe and unarmed (for instance), it's highly probable he or she is roleplaying.

A third signal is if they're talking to someone in /say about things that don't involve game mechanics or the real world, and/or they're using good grammar and spelling. And emotes that aren't preprogrammed are a good sign--such as "Tiraline shrugs dismissively." as opposed to "Tiraline shrugs. Who knows?"

...Did I miss anything, folks? Or did I add something that was incorrect?

Neither have I, usually; there's no real need to have something earth-shattering going on constantly, if that's not your style. Some of the best RP comes not from "epic storylines" that you've concocted ex nihilo, but from day-to-day interactions that lead to exciting adventures!

RP is about characters, not stories, IMO. The stories arise from the characters and how they react and interact.

That's how it works for me. Others may feel differently, and that's a question of style and preference--but don't feel pressured to write the Great Fantasy Novel instead of just enjoying people's company! Just announce, "Hey, I need my RP fix. Anyone doing anything--or doing nothing?"

Ahah, very nice, thanks for the great feedback! Also, some info about me, if anyone runs into me (though I'm busy sometimes). I almost always run, unless immediately talking to someone or involved in something. Grehan's not necessarily very young (Dwarf equivalent of 25-30ish), but he's always in a rush and full of energy. Well, actually, I rarely run, I'm normally bolting around on my Mechanostrider, which is still RP for me. Basically, if I'm in my twill suit (see avatar), expect me to be RPing.

Right now, I'm working towards my Salty title, which suits me. Anyhow, I've been doing a lot of fishing in Crystal Lake just past the Goldshire inn, if anyone needs to find me. I'll probably set up a MyRolePlay, seeing that people on TN still RP, I just apparently am terrible at finding it. Thanks!

Oh, that might be part of it. The RP around GS has some really bad rep--mostly mailbox dancers and other nonsense. You might want to try fishing in Stormwind or Ironforge.

Come 3.1, anyone will be able to fish in any zone, regardless of skill (two weeks, IIRC), so you'll be able to fish in Dalaran, too--which should help a lot.

Whoah, no, I understand that Goldshire RP is usually terrible. I'm fishing there because I'm trying for the "The One That Didn't Get Away" achievement. I have to catch one of many ridiculously rare fish, and Crystal Lake is the most convinient place to do so. After I get it, I'll head to Dalaran and fish out of the fountain. I also need The Coin Master. After that, I'll be "Salty" Grehan, as I won the fishing tournament last Sunday.

And, no, my fishing is 450, so I can fish everywhere now. But I appreciate the help - I'm definitely not enjoying Goldshire much.
