View Full Version : [Feedback] Cult of the Forgotten Shadow
Pyrisath

(I'd like to open by saying sorry to all those Forsaken I let down when I first was introduced to the idea of creating a player-made Cult.)
So, I finally decided to really pick up my priest's RP again. This was sort of spur-of-the-moment in trying to come up with an RP for the Nether Legends, but then I put some things together.
What would the (Forsaken) community response be if I attempted to create the player-made faction of the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow (http://www.wowwiki.com/Cult_of_the_Forgotten_Shadow)? Combining this with the player-made reputation mod, this could go places. I'm already willing to do this, I tried it before, but then had to leave WoW. I just want to see what the following right off the bat would be like. Pyrisath is a Shadow Ascendant(Or I can re-RP that), and it would be nice to see people expand their classes into sub-classes like that.
Discuss. *cough* give feedback *cough*

This would be something of an expirement to represent a religious group from the Warcraft universe that was previously shown by a title under the name of an NPC. While the original idea would be for someone to head it as the 'Bishop' of our area, I would try and expand it beyond just that.
There is a certain level of character creation that I am trying to show with this, beyond just the title of 'Archmage' or 'Highlord' or some other self-given title, that was RP'd through with minimal outside participation. With this, I would try and create a system of advancement, to have the player achieve the sub-class. For Pyrisath, I took five virtues from the page(Death, compassion, Tenacity, Power, Respect), filled them out with vague goals(Power: Defeat an elite two levels above me solo), and went about completing those goals as I leveled. Once I had completed all of them, I signified Pyrisath becoming a Shadow Ascendant by taking on Shadowform-- And never deactivating it. Note that this is just an example of what I mean by rising into a player-made rank. Instead of me doing this by myself, others would seek to do it, and they would report to someone in charge(Local bishop, or priest), and be gifted with Ascension or another title.
THIS WOULD NOT BE A GUILD. I realize that with the number of race-only guilds already out there, making this as a guild would be suicide. Instead, this would of similar style to the Teasure Seekers Raiding Coalition. There would be a place that all members were named, and a channel with which to communicate. Ranks would be given in the place where members are named, along with titles based by ranks achieved.
So far, the main purpose of this group is to try out a player-made church for WoW, something that guilds would seek to gain the favor of. WoW religions, not RL religions. This has the possibility to cause players to debate over religion in WoW by representing real religions with in game ones, but this could also prove to be a great rise in server awesomeness.
Thought I would clarify the idea, as I have found that people tend to take my words on a different trail, turn around on that trail, walk for a mile or two, and then bitch and moan about being lost, unless I give more detailed description.

I'd certainly be interested. My warlock is a follower of the Forgotten Shadow (rare as my RP with him is), and it would give me something to do with him. Also, it could potentially serve as a rival organization for Malethia to work against, since she considers herself one of the leaders of whatever passes for a Church of Holy Light amongst the Horde.

I am interested (again) and rushing out the door right now, so I cannot expound upon that.

Infection would be happy to coordinate some Forsaken-heavy RP with you, Pyri, and my own Shadow Priest Jaiced Alexander is a member of the Cult, so I could definitely get into this on a personal level
