I met Lupa when I first joined Citadel. Lupa was on her way out as the guild "ambassador", and Torg asked Vuudu to take over. I only got to know Rick and his characters in passing, but I was amazed at what a wonderful guy he seemed to be.
I found out about Rick's illness and death today, when I visited the Avalon forums on Scarlet Crusade. Even though I am far gone from Twisting Nether these days, hearing about his death brought me to tears. Rick made that much of an impression on me.
God bless his family, and all of us who grieve his passing.

Sadly, I too just learned of Lupa's passing from the world. Lupa and I met a very long time ago. We grew up learning the ways of the Hunter adventuring across the plains of the Barrens. Oh how I miss those days...spending hours tracking our prey, fishing, getting drunk around the campfire, exploring the jungles and forests far and near.
When Lupa disappeared to the seas, I was heartbroken....the Barrens had never looked to empty to me before. I disappeared too...into the nearest tavern. I did not wake up for many months, and when I did, some Human named Nouri had taken her spirit. I did find that fellow one day. Although I tried as hard as I could, I just simply could not understand his language, and he could not understand me, but I knew it was her...it was her eyes...Lupa's eyes.
I will never forget that day dancing around the fire....you told me you loved me despite being smashed out of your gourd. Lupa...I willl miss you my friend....I love you too.
May your arrows always fly true.
With much love for you and your family,

Sorry for being so behind the times. This really hits home for me as Rick was the person who loaned me gold "way back" in the Melar Danashj days....when I was buying my epic mount and told me to pay him back "whenever." I payed him back within a week but it really just goes to show what kind of person he was.
Man this is upsetting.
