For Skafloc - The Meat! (event ideas/places/suggestions)

The easy part: Figuring out where to have it and what to include in it. I would like things that are pertinent to Rick, the person, as well as things that just scream "OMG that's so Skafloc!" or "Lupa would do that!" "Or Nouri was here!"

My suggestion for place would be a semi secluded place in Shattrath away from the normal traffic. It's mostly a ghost town now that the bulk of the playerbase can reach Dalaran.

Secluded/PVP/Horde area is fine also, I just really don't want a "Funeral PVP Video" incident.

Also, while we should have the group get-together in an out of the way location, maybe we can have whoever is frapsing this get individual shots of characters in locations that had a meaning to them and Skaf. Maybe have those shown during the parts where people are giving their messages?

EXACTLY. 100% that. I will climb a fucking clocktower myself if anything like that has a chance of happening. But that also leads me to this:

The point is not to mourn him. It's sending flowers, it's sending a text, it's a phone call, only it's through the one medium where we're all able to reach him.

I'll probably go through the music for other's characters thread - he's dedicated music to others and we've dedicated music to him. Might be good to include snippets of those.

Pictures can be added into the video, voices can read little snippets of things.

Call me ambitious... but I know Skafloc always enjoyed raiding.

If we could muster the man power, we could even get one big OOC raid of the willing to blaze through Naxx in 10 ( or 25 man? ), and have the raid leader FORCE ALL THE DROPS into his inventory. If you need me as a tank, I'll work on my gear to do it. If you need me as a healer, I'll use what I have to do that. If you need me to DPS ( lol? ), I'm always game. I would not be surprised if we could rally enough TNG and friends to pull something amazing off.

A part of me really wants to give him something meaningful in game itself, it's the very medium we've gotten to meet and interact with him in the first place. Whether that's some ambitious raid or a big OOC gathering of all the TNG cheering him on. The thought of him logging on into something so grand like that...

I think it's something he'd really appreciate a lot.

Don't forget that he was once Alliance as well (must remind self to make another post after this one, regarding that!). That's not something they could help participate in.

That doesn't mean that something like that cannot be part of it; however, for my part in things, I am planning with the idea in mind that he may not be able to attend (I'd like the video to be a surprise). Organizing a raid to force lewts on him might be difficult, but if it is something you want to do, and that people are interested in, I don't see why it can't happen.

There has been a lot of fanart done for or about Skafloc, from portraits to the whimsical interpretation of his "love child" Adeon. Do any of the more artistically inclined of us have the ability to make a sort of collage or composite image of it all, or maybe include still shots of each piece for the video being planned?

I live in Brasil, I don't got much money (I don't pay for this account =P), but there are things I can do to help...

I can draw stuff if you guys want me to. I'm not "OMG, AWESOME!" with a pencil, but if anything, at least people will laugh at my pictures (¬¬).

I can start working with FRAPS and all that, since I have friends with experience in that.

I am willing to do other stuff, I just don't know what right now. Anything, drop me a pst in game, I'm almost always there.

I will heal/tank/DPS and raid lead this (as I have seen the fights). I have a naxx level healing set and would work my ass off on getting prepped for tanking or DPS'ing as needed (melee or ranged). I think its a wonderful idea.

I do like the idea that each individual would put their message in a setting of their choosing. That adds in a new layer of difficulty, and for those who aren't entirely sure - a default location would be nice.

There are always the ships in Stranglethorn Vale. Also, the ships in Howling Fjord. For the Alliance folks, they do have Theramore and Menethil.

I love this idea guys. And I'd like some of the writers to write him somethings. His stories for people were always so creative and beautiful. Can someone perhaps bind together his work from here or any collaborations he wrote with others?

3. Skaf and all his friends.

If one person sketches up a framework (for positions and general posing reference), several people could draw the individual characters, and then they can all be put together digitally.

Yep, just south of Ratchet is an empty ship (except when rogues come aboard to do that Polly quest). It's been long used as the Mourningstar but is always available to be used however someone wants it.

I wish I could draw something instead of just adding to the pile of ideas, but to Xara's list I'd like to add "the family." Clys/Morgauth, Danyx, and Lovely left but I believe he rolled back to Horde to be involved with the Immortal Triumvirate story, and it was through that group that I and a few others came to know him.

Another idea that could be simpler is if we donate screenshots we have of him for our Photoshop experts to touch up.

This is a long shot, but maybe we could get Blizz behind this? Insta-80 or something. Does anyone have any kind of connections whatsoever? I think this is something they may actually get behind (all we are asking is to allow him to raid). I dunno...this is just something I would LOVE to do for him.
