Hypothetically, if I were charged with planning and hosting my guild's Winter's Veil celebration, where would be some good locations to scout and consider? I need to get the invitation designed and posted as soon as possible.

A note: I'd like to keep it *out* of Northrend, to accomodate lower-level players and those who may not have the EP.

Thanks in advance for all the help! :)

Darnassus, you'll find it a pleasant atmosphere and mostly devoid of alliance interlopers.

Also, are you hypothetically planning your guild's Winter Veil celebration, or are you actually planning your guild's Winter Veil celebration?

are dwarves invited?

It has yet to be decided, I think. Must consult with the head honcho.

Can Horde get up on the Twin Colossals in Feralas? Always wanted to host a /party there, but each time I've tried it's been a turnout of...'bout 3%.

They can, I've seen two Blood Elves roleplaying... Whatever it is they might be roleplaying in a secluded, natural environment with a semi-romantic view..

But, is that really a good place for a Winter's Veil party? I mean, I know it'd be completely cliché, but imho Winter's Veil party needs to have some... Winter to it.

Ah, but that is the clincher, isn't it? All the Winter-snowy locations in Azeroth (and Northrend at that matter) are all flagged territories for the Horde.. Making it hard to really plan a good event that'd be hard to be griefed by allies..

However, I would give you beaucoup props for hosting this party in Dun Morogh. It's probably the most "winter veil" of all the snowy territories in Azeroth, and plus it'd leave room for your friendly neighborhood druid to crash the party and have goodfun dance-party tiems and maybe you know, drink a little too much eggnog and end up running around in giant bipedal chicken form screaming obscenities eventually passing out and waking up the next day naked in the snow wondering "What the hell did I do last night?" and "Oh, goddess my head feels like somone is hammering a nail into my skull!".. You know without having to worry about being ganked like at every Horde party I've ever been to in this game even the cross-faction ones.

None-the-less there are many spots in Dun Morogh and Winterspring (not so much Alterac) that'd be good locations for your party. Feel free to pm me if you'd like me to show you some.

By the way, due to Irontoes and other like-minded individuals, I reccomend you don't post the party information (date/time/location) on this forum, or on any forum at all. The less we on this side know about it, the better it is for you.

Oh, QQ. I was one of those responsible for guarding the most successful cross-faction party this server has seen, and single-handedly prevented several outbreaks of hostilities. You may have been doing the same thing with me (you were in the Cartel, right?). I'm not particularly warlike if the Horde is offering a good time RPing.

heh. cross faction aside *coughs*we'llkillyouralliancefriendsifwefindouttoo *coughs*

dun morogh has this cute lil house, oh what's it called...something dawn. dawn something. north end of zone, east of the entry to ironforge. has one neutral npc outside it, and no one in the house itself. kadesh and i stumbled upon a couple in there once. heh dwarf with his hands behind his head, human girl kneeling overtop of him. fun story...anyway! i bet that would be perfect if you were planning something small.

if you're planning something bigger, why not consider a northrend location? lots of snow there. it's not all dangerous, obviously. get a warlock, do some summoning. lots of great festive wintery places.

i'd really say go for winter type locations because winter veil, like christmas, should evoke a sense of "getting together to be warm and cozy with each other". more that than the whole "snowbirds flying to florida" feeling that you'd get if you went to sunrock retreat or the badlands or some desert place.

darnassus really is a great location for parties that you don't want disturbed. i always wanted to hold some of the tourneys for cristok in alliance locations. what about bloodmyst isle? oh so pretty, especially those bloody waterfalls. and there's a little location in the hinterlands, north down the beach from the horde outpost. if you don't mind gamerita, which a higher lvl's pet could just take care of repeatedly anyway.
