Rotational questions (Warlock: Demo)

Yeah, just one of them posts where I ask WTF kind of rotation you are supposed to use with Demonology. Like, before wrath, and even 3.0.2, I only ever used SL/SL as a demo spec...or sometimes I'd go demo/destro, but I got out of that one REAL fast.

So, I know there's some spells you should use, but then I question some of them as well, cause I guess I'm used to running around like a crack head and firing off dots. Granted, I did do Destro for a while, that was hella fun ^_^.

But yeah, Demonology has me slightly confused.

IMO Demonology is bad bad bad.
The Felgaurd is nice still, but something doent seem right with Demonology.

For pvp lulz and a good spec to quest, go Affliction. Load up your dots and run to the next target, rinse repeat.

(I honestly have no clue, but the idea of a PvP rotation makes me snicker. I would think that Siphon Life will still be a PvP necessity - so take whatever else after that)

Demo locks are furious, the other day one demo lock lower level then all his attackers by atleast 1 to 2 levels in mix match s3/4 gear killed three of us easily. It was ridiculous, they don't seem to take any dmg when geared properly, combined with 30sec of plate armor in demon form with a immolation aura that HURTS it makes for quite a burst combination.

What I see most of them do is just put up their dots and let them tick, against a melee combatant its easier, they want you in melee. So you pop demon form and immolation aura, it does a lot of dps, which I find its best to kite a demon form lock till its over. Other then the quick dmg from the immolation aura and their survivability they seem like a one trick pony. As soon as they pull the demon form card they don't have as much burst anymore.

It all comes from shadow bolt and SL/DL spam once demon form is out of the bag, so rock that fear after your demon form goes down, try and get off some casts. Of course, usually you'll kill things before demon form is up if you use it right, but still.

Right, once I figure out how to change the title =P. Drippy: I wuld be affliction, but with my lag, I can't do it. I use a /castsequence macro, but with affliction, it ends up hurting my dps instead of helping, and I usually get killed because my Felhunter sucks ass. With demo spec, leveling is easy, even if I get d/ced. Also, I have beat down a shitty little 70 DK when I was 71 who thought he'd try to be cute...I was demo at the time, and had 1600+ latency. So...I'm convinced it CAN be excellent for PvP, I just need to know what spells are worth casting, and which ones aren't.

He killed 3 of you?
wow...if you would have used your pally fear, that would have been an end to his demon form and the you would have killed him.

I just find it hard to belive he did that.

heh well If I was on my pally I doubt he would have done as much good a he did against us. I was on my 73 frost dk, with a 72 Enhance shammie, and another 71 or 72 DK (I think he was unholy). Unfortunately for us we are all Melee so once he hit demon form it was pretty much then end of us and me being the highest out of the three he killed me first. I think we res ran back twice to finally get him down.

Edit: and the pally fear thing is noted...now I am whacking my forehead for not using it on the Demo lock in arenas pre-WotLK

yep Pally fear ...or Warlock banish when they in meta form....just like banishing druid trees..I love it!

Also, Demo is actually quite good in PvP, it's a choice spec in arenas, due to its longevity and survivability, also its pet is alot harder to kill. Metamorphosis is -very- powerful in arena settings as well, if I head into the arena and see a warlock, rarely am I happy.

I mean, I'm happy because that means that warlock is not a druid, but still.
