I think the winner should name the button "<winner>'s tra la la" so that every time people want to see the latest posts, they must touch their tra la la. Their, ding ding dong, if you will.

Then you'll have to submit something for the next contest. Oh yeah.

You know how old Taknar is? I'm not even sure he has a "tra la la" anymore. There would be nothing to touch! People wouldn't know what the latests posts are! The TNG would effectively be shut down for a week! WE MIGHT GO OUTSIDE!
...I'll do it!

That's the spirit. I like this new contest a ton. It's incentive to read stories.

I was totally joking. It took me a month to write a paragraph or three, and I'm still not happy with it. There is no way I could pump out something worth reading in a week on top of leveling and working and gfing and all that.
I've kinda resigned myself to being an in-game RPer, or participating in other people's RP threads as a supporting character. I just don't know how to lead a good story.

Do what I did, Tak. I was reading TNG at breakfast like I always do and noticed that Mort hadn't posted the contest yet. 'Good, I thought, 'I'll whip something up in 20 minutes and post that and get that in the contest, then have enough time to hop in the shower and get to class on time.'
...well I was only TEN minutes late to class, but I didn't get in the contest, damned Mort and her sneaky coming in in the morning >_>
ANYway, the point is, try to power yourself through a story by setting real-world constraints and just see what ends up coming out. It's like looking at your poop, but it's shiny happy poop. Wait, maybe that's not encouraging...*runs*

This brings me back to when my kids were infants in diapers. There really is no other time when sane adults are so fascinated with the various styles and types of poop.

Certain flavours of health care, also. The longest day of my life, at least at this job, had to be when my former client, who requires diapers, had multiple episodes of diarrhea in one day and we couldn't figure out why until his mother told us she'd taken him out to McDonalds. Apparently something in the milkshakes disagreed with him rather violently.
... On the plus side, I totally won the I Had A Bad Day contest with my partner. "My client was really cranky today." "Yeah? Mine shit himself. FIVE TIMES." "OK, you win." :D

I don't know if you're being serious, but if you are please just don't vote. Only vote if you have read all the entries. The large reason this went away for such a long time were complaints about favouratism. Just picking the best sounding title isn't far off from that in the minds of many people.

Congrats to Twitch of the Numen!
By the way, Villyana, your plot is working. If I have something for the next "week" should I wait to post after you have a thread up, or just link once you start the submissions?

I think the next batch should be written soley in haikus. Not a single haiku, but each paragraph or point in the story should be a haiku.
