BEST. SPELL. EVER.

Arathi Basin is SO much fun with it, losing or not. My current record for people killed with a single use of Thunderstorm is me (alone) killing 5 retards standing up on the cliff at Lumbermill on top of eachother watching a fight at Blacksmith.

And that was only in a few hours of play this morning. I have no doubt that I'll be getting a LOT of HK's by being a total dick and sending people plummeting to their doom in the next few days.

Particularly fun is killing Ret Paladins who blow wings and their bubble on you, managing to survive their burst, and then punting them off the cliff the moment their bubble goes down.

I've never been so happy to be a Shaman, but it has me scared now. Something that feels THIS good... please let it be forever! T_T

EDIT: I killed two pallies tonight after they bubbled. Two HK's for Dio!

-sigh-

Probably gonna get nerfed if it isn't balanced at 80

Don't worry about it now, I'm sure at 80 it's balanced (it better be, so you know you don't get screwed)

It's no less balanced than mind control really.

Though I could see it having a short cast time put onto it.

I could definitely see a cast time being implemented, since right now if you stop watching your environment for more than a second you could be sent plummeting. I can imagine a few shaman standing on high bridges in WotLK just waiting for people to try to cross -.-

I see a boot enchant in your future.... "You have a 50% chance to resist knockback effects."

My initial reaction of "But Priests are the ORIGINAL cliff-jumping instructors and I don't like sharing..." was rapidly replaced by "Ok, that's just freaking awesome." 5 people at once is hilarious, and punting people is just funny.

Actually, you know, I get the feeling this is what Blizzard could be trying to do. Emphasize environment as much as spells, abilities and other players as part of PvP combat. Thunderstorm doesn't punt you upwards and outwards, only outwards. Meaning if you stick to the centre of wide bridges or even just "walk through" the shaman, you can prevent yourself from being punted.

It wouldn't surprise me if they removed falling damage after being punted, though.

Yeah, I thought about it as I was typing, but if they are planning on making environment a part of the game to that degree, I imagine they'd give more than just Shaman skills like that.

Druids have Typhoon.

Mages have Blast Wave.

Death Knights have death grip. (not the same, but still rather jarring)

Priests have always had Mind Control.

Ha! Does Blast Wave knock back now? That's awesome. A fair point, then.

Hey Dio! It's fun in AV as well. Just run into the middle of a horde on alliance brawl cut it loose and watch them fly.

*grins wickedly*

I'm waiting for my chance to try it in AB. Thank you for the ss that it will send folks off the cliff. :)

Awesome story about some Iceblood Tower defense. Me and Yatokth were holding it against wave after wave of Alliance. Since casting outside the tower for me is relatively difficult, I'd usually only follow him out to throw the odd heal.

Well this Warrior comes up to the tower, gets into a fight with Yat and he draws the guy back to the room. BAM. I hit thunder and he goes FLYING out from the tower a damn good distance before hitting the ground and losing all but 300 of his HP.

Then Yat's rend killed him.

It was priceless.

REND FUCKING OWNS YEAAAAAAH

There was also that time you did it to the paladin - Only he didn't die, and he started healing, but then I jumped off and mid-air intercepted him and executed.

NO HEALZ 4 U

IB tower defense with Dio is r0xx0r.

Knocking a bunch of NPCs off the bridge in Blackrock with Blast Wave, then screaming, "Oh shi-!" and jumping frantically after them in the hopes of killing them before they pull the entire place down on you: Priceless.

In PvP, though: Brilliant. Unless some other dork has Frost Novaed them right next to your face anyway. Damn cooldowns.

If anyone's being instantly killed by knockbacks, it's their own fault. All it really takes to avoid is consciousness of where you're standing in relation to the terrain. Nobody's really used to that in this game. It'll come with time.

Or getting frost-novaed in mid air after you punt them. -_-

Just escaped Stormwind Harbor with Anorah by punting a Night Elf hunter off the boat and safely back onto the dock as the ship moved out. Absolutely priceless.

I must say, I love Thunderstorm. Keeps me from getting my ass handed to me in under three seconds. It gives me 5 seconds to live instead. XD

But, priceless moment last night, rogue tried to gank me. He got me to 20%.

Thunderstorm + Edge of the world in Nagrand = Flying rogue into the Nether.

I've never had a chance to use any of these abilities but always envied them. Adding the awareness of environment to pvp just makes sense from a roleplay perspective as well.

Now tell me some more entertaining stories about tossing people off cliffs!

Does it work at the flag in Eye of the Storm?

Seeing something like this worries me (http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/11/03/the-thunderstorm-of-thunder-bluff/) because of just how everybody is screaming "nerf" on Thunderstorm in particular, but situations like this don't seem to arise often. I am hoping that, maybe, if they do nerf Thunderstorm, it's a nerf to how many people it can it at one time.

I don't want to lose my new toy.

Threw 2 guys off the LM in AB once at the same time. Didn't get a screenie though. By the way how does Thunderstorm work? Like, is it an AoE, or is it directional like Typhoon?

That video is freaking AWESOME. But situations like that really don't crop up much. There's really not many locations in WoW where you can get knocked to your death so easily like that. And Ele Shamans really do need an "Oh crap!" spell like Thunderstorm.
