This is a forum for discussion of PvP. Mechanics, patch notes, strategies, events, encounters, and anything else to do with PvP. Flame-baiting, inciting rivalries, and any hostility whether open or veiled is strictly prohibited. Mockery of specific players will not be tolerated.

Examples of good topics for this forum: "How can I step up my game as a shaman?" "Suggestions for 3v3 comps in the next season?" "Halaa Back: Tips on World PvP Coordination." and "Nice fight out in Stormwind, [Player Name]!"

Examples of bad topics for this forum: "Reasons this [opposite faction] guild sucks." "So I owned this loser warrior (sceenshots inside)" "This guy who doesn't post on the TNG is such a meanie, he camped me!" and "How do I shot web?"

It should be duly noted by all posters in the PvP Forum that the freedom to speak of specific encounters and interactions with other players and guilds of Twisting Nether is a privilege. It has been taken away on the site before due to a perceived inability for people to treat each other with common respect and courtesy. If it is felt at any point that people will be unable to continue treating each other with respect and courtesy, the privilege will be removed again.

So as always, be respectful to your fellow gamer and cohort in the human species, even if your pixel man isn't on the same fake team as his pixel man. And remember, a disagreement can be spoken about in friendly and civil ways. Smiling is mandatory, citizen.

Hijacked by Fhenrir for the purposes of side rules and other not-as-immediately-important gibberish.

- It should be noted that, as of 5/24/10, I've suspended the approval for topics discussing faction leader kills. They're irrelevant to the PvP community. Topics involving a scuffle or encounter that may have included faction leaders are still fine; this only applies to topics created for killing faction leaders specifically.

Original post by Borx:

Oooh! Wonderful. I have always had troubles with certain classes and specs with certain characters of mine. Awesome! <3

Updated. Old Rules Post is below for completion purposes.

Be respectful.

Be sure to stay on topic.

This forum is for the purpose of discussing PvP and things relating to PvP. Examples of a proper topic would be;

"How do I counter Beast Within as X Class?" or "What I've noticed PvPing in the Badlands!"

Examples of topics that do not fit here are;

"Hey, I got killed by Fynne (again!)!" or "WHY'D YOU GANK ME FHENRIR?!"

It's not complicated.

This is a PvP Forum. Unless you guys are about to start talking about PvP, we can have this discussion anywhere else.

Updated. Old Post quoted below for comparison.

This is a forum for discussion of PvP mechanics, changes, strategies, and anything else to do with PvP. Discussion of specific PvP encounters in the world is strictly prohibited and will be modded immediately. Flame-baiting and inciting specific rivalries is also prohibited.

Examples of good topics for this forum: "How can I improve my game as a DK?" "Suggestions for 2v2 comps in S6?" and "Fynne's Guide to World PvP; A Dissertation on Warlocks and Killing Them as a Rogue."

Examples of bad topics for this forum: "Y U KILL ME YATOKTH?!!?!" "So I ganked this loser warrior from TNR (sceenshots inside)" and "Fhenrir's Guide to World Ganking; A Dissertation on Who I've Killed and Why They Suck."

As always, be respectful to your fellow gamer and cohort in the human species.

Updated again. Old version quoted below because I'm OCD.

This is a forum for discussion of PvP mechanics, changes, strategies, and anything else to do with PvP. Discussion of specific PvP encounters with any player (regardless of their reputation as a ganker or status as a TNG reader) in the world is strictly prohibited and will be modded immediately.

Updated. It should be noted that specific mention is made of the still very much up-in-the-air ruleset that permits any kind of PvP discussion.

Old post quoted below for posterity:

This is a forum for discussion of PvP mechanics, changes, strategies, and anything else to do with PvP. Flame-baiting, inciting rivalries, or otherwise intentionally pushing peoples' buttons and otherwise being a jerk is strictly prohibited. Discussion of specific PvP encounters with any player or guild on TN regardless of tone, intent, or their popularity is strictly prohibited and will be modded immediately.

Examples of good topics for this forum: "How can I step up my game as a shaman?" "Suggestions for 3v3 comps in the next season?" and "Halaa Back: Tips on World PvP Coordination."

Examples of bad topics for this forum: "Y U KILL ME?!!?!" "So I owned this loser warrior (sceenshots inside)" and "Nice Fight Out At Halaa, Bro!"

As always, be respectful to your fellow gamer and cohort in the human species, even if your pixel man isn't on the same fake team as his pixel man.

As of this time, further topics created for the sole purpose of boasting/informing/whatever about killing faction leaders is suspended, based on the fact that there isn't really any room for interesting discussion. Discussions of the mechanics behind leaders, scuffles that may have involved a leader, and upcoming changes to them are all fine. This is only a rule against specifically creating a topic about having killed one.

This is also not retroactive; the current thread is fine, as long as it stays civil and interesting.

Please note that while Fhenrir is no longer a moderator, his rules for conduct in this forum still applies. Since the new expansion has launched, renewed interest has found its way to this section. So just be mindful of how things were done before.
